Money Stress

Is anyone else having stress re: $$$$. I mean, both of our parents are contributing some $$$ but mostly it is me and FH. I just feel like I want the perfect wedding but it will cost me a fortune. It got so bad that I felt guilty to buy myself a cup of coffee this morning at Starbucks!!! We both have good jobs but Long Island is getting so **** expensive!!!

Re: Money Stress

I think everyone can relate. We were actually glad when some people responded no because its less plates we have to cover.

Re: Money Stress

You're not the only one hun.. It's not easy.. I'm making my first payment to the hall this upcoming Tuesday and I feel sad to part with it lol I'm so proud that we've been saving soo much money and yet it just goes from our hands to the hall's..

It'll be ok.. like many of my friends have said.. It all comes together..

Re: Money Stress

You are not alone. I am out of a job right now and willing to take the first thing that comes along even though it may not be what I want just to get some cash flow into the house. FH is being so great and supportive and it makes me feel even worse to see him go out to work every day while I sit home. I am not one to be 'taken care of' and he doesn't care if I work or not. He is such a good guy but I need a J.O.B. now!!! I can't take the stress any more. Sorry...had to vent!

Re: Money Stress

Vick-what do you do (or did) for a living? Just seeing if I know of anything that's hiring.

Re: Money Stress

I'm right there with you all! It actually didn't hit me until I made my second payment to my hall, booked my photographer and booked my videographer all in one week - I was shaking writing out my checks, I've NEVER had my bank account go down so quickly! I wanted to scream! I'm getting nervous now about all the payments I have to make like the month before the wedding, that's when it will really hit me! But I have about 11 months to go for that! As for the Starbucks, I CANNOT break away from those darn caramel macchiato's!!! $5 a day on coffee is insane, I should really start to buckle down! Good luck to the rest of you and your Starbucks addiction, but don't feel guilty to treat yourself to it every once in a while

Re: Money Stress

I am reading these and LMAO that I am not alone!! We recently opened up a savings actt for the wedding and we are transferring like 1/2 our paychecks to it every 2 weeks which leaves my checking acct to the lowest it's ever been. I feel like i'm back in college where I had to make like 5 bucks stretch for a week! As far as my Starbucks addiction-I work from 8pm-8am so I need my Grande cappuccino to keep me awake for most of the night. FH doesn't understand why we own a coffee maker if I never make my own coffee! But of course i'll still register for a nicer one anyway-lol

Re: Money Stress

Oh, there's stress!! I have huge loans from law school that i have to make huge payments on eveyr month, so after that and rent, i feel like i have nothing left!! How am I supposed to be paying for a wedding????
I try to save, but it's so hard, since I have no discipline!!
I love starbucks caramel macchiato, too, but i try to limit myself to 1 -2 a week. It's tough, but it is a lot of money for a relatively small cup of coffee!
