as some of you may know my FH is making our wedding montage to be played at the reception - he's made a ton of them in the past for DJ clients and they are all pretty standard - so FH wants to do something totally different for ours - 'something that has never been seen before' (whatever that means! scares me a little ) basically he wants to do something totally different - i have suspicion that he is using video snippets, and he wants to go very untraditional with the music selection - he said he already has a song for my pictures, and lots of ideas for our song but he can't think of anything for when his photos play - this is where LIW comes in any ideas of different songs that can relate to growing up pictures of a guy? any kind of music - but i think he is looking for ideas that are more upbeat and fast......we couldnt think of anything last night - so i thought some of you might have some good ideas that can at least point us in some different directions....

i have a photo montage in my DJ package as well...but when do they play that?? I thought they played the pics while you were dancing together...Like pics of me and Fh when we dance and pics of him when he was younger as well as with his mom when they dance and then me and my dad when we dance?!

this is something that is played when everyone is seated - usually during dinner....we are doing things a little different b/c my FH wants things to be a little different than all of the parties he works we are getting introduced into the room and then we might do our montage right then and there - we'll watch from the dancefloor - b/c my FH is surprising me with it and i guess the DJ will announce that he has a surprise for me (even though i already know he is making it) then after that we will go into our first dance....montages are usually 3-8 minutes long - its different than the slideshow they put up while you do your dances - we are doing that as well - there will be photos of my dad and i on the TVs while we dance

sorry as you can tell i didn't have interest in the dj part of planning that was fh's job! but now turned into mine haha

and before cake and the VH the DJ is doing a ceremony re-cap - similair to what denise had from pennylane - except our DJ does it, not a videographer - its a quick recap of the ceremony to music and then us saying part of our vows...

Actually i think i remember my photographer saying he would be able to do that....put pics of us from the ceremony on the screens while we dance. The photographer and Dj company are in the same building and work well together so they don't have a problem doing that thankfully.
But i like your idea about the family and friends montage very nice!
