It all depends on the weekend your wedding falls on... Summertime is usually busy for weddings, so a hotel block would be important to do pretty early. We are memorial weekend and the hotel was the 2nd thing we booked (the church and RH were first)

Most important checks?
I was fearful that my wedding date would book up quickly (12-13-14) so I booked my venue/dj/photographer within 6 weeks of being engaged. Those were my 3 most important and I wanted the first picks of everything we wanted :)
One venue I had called in January was already booked for the date 12-13-14!
