However, I know in Italian culture that if a mother wears black she is mourning the loss of her son or daughter - and she is basically saying that she does not approve the marriage
for that reason my mother won't wear black and i mentioned it to my FMIL and she said she wouldn't wear it either
also if you wear red you are the groom's mistress HA HA
silly little customs. . . but if it doesnt bother you then she can wear whatever she wants!!
I thibk that is when anyone dies, & they wear it for a year to the day of the death,, But customary if a wedding occurs & its a son or daughter , then they can do away with the black for that day ,,
