Music! Wedding band input

So my FH and I are really into music (he's been in a band for the past 10 years and is insistent on a band). We also aren't really into pop music or the typical cheesy wedding band. We found a band we really liked but they charged almost double for travel to Riverhead and we just can't see paying that much. Anyone have any good recommendations for a unique band that plays mostly 80s and 90s music, along with some classic songs that is from Long Island? Thanks in advance!

Code Bleu is really good for a mix of music but I think they are pricey.

Also check out a band called Souls on Board :) I know they do weddings (I found this out after I booked my DJ or we would have booked them) but ive seen them play a ton of times and they are so great

Thanks so much, I'll check them both out. The band I liked wanted almost double the fee just to come out to east Long Island and I didn't even love them. I would think you can get a pretty good band for under 10k, right??? ugh

I would think so, but im not sure we went with a DJ.

If you speak to Souls on Board, tell them that Jordan Sabbatino sent you (Chris B, in the band will know who I am - we're long time family friends)

We had Code Bleu and they are amazing! We had so many compliments on them. I had a bunch of 80's songs on my playlist and all of our guests loved it! Not sure if they charge additional for going out to Riverhead. But we definitely came in under $10K.

We are using Soul Revival next weekend, I can't believe it's next week already, ahhh.
Anyway, these guys are awesome, we've seen them a few times at family weddings, and they have so much energy. We felt like we were at a concert because they bring such a fun, and unique live element to the weddings they play, we cannot wait to have them perform for our family and friends, I feel like dancing to their music right now, lol. www.soulrevivalband.com
