My BM is sick

About two months ago my friend one of my BM's told me that she hadn't been feeling well and it was related to the weird pains she had in her back for the past 6 months. Back in March she told me that every time she would drink alcohol she would have pains in her back and chest....so she saw some doctors and they coudln't relate it to anything....well recently she went for more testing and they found a lump in her chest and she got the results. It's Hodgkin's lymphoma. She is only 25 yrs old and its so scary to imagine this girl that i grew up with is so young and has to now deal with cancer.

She went to Sloane in NYC and found out that she will have chemo for 6 months.

Its so hard because I don't know what to say to her some nights and im trying to just be as positive as I can.

Please say a prayer for her

Thank you. I just had movie night with her. Im trying to put my priorities straight and spend time with her and others that I have neglected since planning this wedding.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I know two people who went through the same thing. One was in the early stages and the other in stage 3!. Both made a great recovery though and I will pray that your friend does the same.

She is at stage 1, which is as good as it could be. They said its in an area that its controlled and has not spread. It looks good for her but she is just afraid of how the chemo will effect her.

What really got me was on her Birthday back in May when she had no clue about any of this I asked her what she wanted and she said 'time'. She just wanted us to spend more time together as friends......i remembered her saying that to me the other night and it hit me hard. So I plan on giving her more of my time and re-focusing things. Sometimes this wedding planning is great but it has taken over.

I plan on it. We had movie night tonight. She also told one of my other friends tonight and i didn't like how she reacted....i know its hard for some people to handle things but she started to cry and then act like all supportive and like she cared more then I know she really does.

My mom died of breast cancer so in a way i know what the clinics are like and how things can be because i have been around it.

I am so sorry to hear this--I hope everything works out for her
