My dilemma....

My dilemma....

I'm having a bit of a dilemma.....

I want to stick with tradition and have just single BMs and ushers for my wedding party. However, my FH wants to include his cousin, who is married, because 'I have to include him b/c I was an usher in his wedding.' Well....the girl that I would pair him up with is a really close friend of mine (who is single) who informed that he was hitting on her/flirting with her at my e-party!!! What a creep!!!

I don't think it's really any of my FH's business--besides, I don't think he would believe what my friend said anyways. I just know that my friend would be REALLY uncomfortable (and I don't blame her) if I paired them up together at the wedding. So I was thinking I would suggest that my friend be paired up with my brother (who is single).

What do you girls think?? What would you do if you were in my position??

Pair her w/ your brother!

What if I propose this to my FH--since my brother will be his usher--and he fights me on it??

Re: My dilemma....

why is it traditional to have the brides maids to be all single?? I don't think I've ever heard this before....

on the other side, that stinks that the married guy was hitting on your friend...

I've never heard of that either. They're only paired up for the walk down the aisle, right? Does it really matter who is paired up with who? I was just going to do it based on height.

that's really old school kind of tradition...if you think about it, the name BridesMAID kind of lets you know the girl is supposed to be a 'maid' as in single. but that is kind of thrown out the window nowadays

just pair her up with your brother. if your FH says anything. just say that she is more comfortable with your brother, and that's that!

I like your attitude! lol......I wish I could just say 'that's that!' and the conversation be over with! I love my FH but he can soooo stubborn! This has been weighing on my mind for so long now and I keep putting off discussing it because of the argument it will cause!

I think if your FH wants his cousin as a groomsman or usher then thats his choice...just liek you get to pick your girls.
I just don't get why your FH is so insistant on having him walk down the aisle with this one friend of yours?

thats how it was wwwaaayyyyyy back when. The brides maids were supposed to be single. The wedding would also be a means for other people to come by and hook up as well.

I say just pair her with your brother.

it is not that my FH is insistent that two particular people are paired together.....he has just said that if I put one of my friend's in the wedding party, then he wants to include his cousin. I would rather he include my brother though.

Re: My dilemma....

Ok I must have misunderstood something... so if FH's cousin is in the bridal party, your brother won't be?
If thats the case, then I just have to say it's really FHs choice. But maybe he can have both?

Re: My dilemma....

Maybe its me but I would think that it is more rude to exclude your brother. he is your family. So fh would rather have his cousin just because he was in his wedding then your brother who will soon be his brother. odd, no?

I agree. I know this isnt exactly the topic you posted, but I think your brother should be in the BP instead of the cousin. Your brother is immediate family...he may feel very excluded. Plus, the cousin is obviously causing problems.
