MY DRESS IS IN!!!!! Update - NOT happy and need advice!!! a little long :(

Im so excited!!!! Im going to see it after work today!!!

SOOOO I went to see my dress with my mom - she wanted to start looking for a dress for herself too. I tried it on and it was too SMALL!!!! About one size. Truth be told...I put on some lbs - I started a med and it made me gain weight within the past few months. I cant just stop it either, but i am going off of it adventually. Have I really tried to lose it, no. BUT from a lot of people I know that have taken those types of meds, they all gained weight...and they all had probs losing weight. So I dont want that to be an excuse. YES I am going to try and hope it succeeds.....BUT my mom being my usual mom wants me to get another dress!! She knows and has faith that I wont be the one to have trouble losing it...(i never had in the past when I needed to) but there is that chance. And she doesnt want me to stress on having to find one last min. And then told me I'll have two to chose fromI feel really bad though!!! What do I do?? Should I really make her get me another dress?? She will not let me pay for my own!! And what do I do with the one that I dont use?? Can I wear both if anything...??j/k LOL

What do I do....????

I spoke with the owner of the store and he is absolutely awesome!!! He told me not to worry and to go back in sept and retry it on. If I can't get the weight down, he said he will order another dress for me and keep the one that is in already and try to resell it !!! My mom wants me to get another one regardless (I personally think she likes the one we saw last night better :)) But thank goodness its all going to work out.....

I wouldn't try to sell it...what if you can't sell it...? Then you'll be holding on to 2 wedding dresses for HOW long..??? I would honestly just have them take it out since it's only ONE size difference... JMO>

dont say no more eating!!!!!!! I was gonna say the same as everyone else...you can always sell it on ebay. I think that's extrememly nice of your mom to offer to do that-does she want to adopt me??

LOL!!! I know....I have friends that are going to be getting married too so I can always try to pawn off one on them.....LOL

Is there any way they can put a panel in or something to make it a little bigger?

If not... sell it on Ebay or on here!

but if you LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR DRESs.. have them take it out it's an option?????

I wish!! They are going to be discontinuing the dress and it cant be returned because of the size. I am going to talk to them about letting it out it worse comes to worse.....It is a stunning dress and I love it!! But may get a backup...and if I decide to, I am going to get a totally different type of dress....

you have almost 8 months so i think you have plenty of time to lose weight - though i know it can be hard when its because of a medication (i gained like over 30 lbs from a medication i went from 89lbs to 130 lbs, smaller than a 0 to a size 5) once i stopped the medication it took me a long time to get all the weight off, now i weight about 95lbs or so and back to about a size 0 or 2....but it took like 2 years of hard, hard work, once i stopped the medicine i didnt lose the weight, i had to diet and exercise - so its not easy - i think you should keep the dress though - it will give you a reason to be healthier (b/c eating right and exercising is good for you, no matter what your weight is) you said its only 1 size to small so i am sure you can get into it - like espo said, its not easy to get rid of a dress - its like wasted money....unless you get another dress and lose weight to fit into this one - then maybe you can wear both dresses for the wedding? one for ceremony and one for reception?

You're very lucky to have a mom like that, I say if you end up with another dress, sell the one you have, there are ALWAYS women looking for a wedding gown and if you can turn something that you weren't too pleased about into a very happy event for someone else, go for it, good luck!!!
