my future husband on crutches DAY of wedding...so sad!!!

On Sunday we were at my dad's house for his birthday and my fiance went to jump of the diving board and hurt himself. Fast forward, we went to the hospital on tuesday because he was still in a lot of pain, we found out that he ruptured his achilles tendon. He had surgery on Thursday and is now in a cast recovering. HE can't walk right now, however the doctors say he will be able to next week with crutches.

He will be in a cast and on crutches for 3 months. I just canceled my honeymood. Ladies, I am so sad, all that work and the day is tarnished. Please don't get me wrong I am so happy it was not worse, but why now!

It was also his right foot so no driving for 3 months. I am just trying to make the best of this horrible situation but it is hard.

sorry to hear about your FH, but try to focus on what a beautiful day you will be sharing with him this weekend. I was reading a magazine where these brides got hurt prior to the wedding. One was in a car accident and had a cast on her leg and the other had to have her brother carry her down the aisle b/c she sprained her ankle. Anyway, they refused to let these setbacks ruin their wedding day & I'm sure you will be able to as well. Best of luck

sorry to hear, hope he heels quickly and isn't in much pain for long.

just remember, at the end of the day you will be married, and that is more important than anything! I have to put my honeymoon off as well, and its not that big a deal. At the end of the day you will be married to the love of your life, and that is the most important thing. you can always do the trip!

Thanks ladies. Needless to say this week has been very challenging for me. I am so tired and stress. Not only do I have the last minute bs stuff to deal with, ie mother in law changing place cards, pick up dress, get waxed, blah blah blah, but it continues to rain on me. I ordered special crutches for my FH in black and they came in blue. Okay I can deal, but they broke 6 hours later. The place holding my rehersal dinner called to tell me they double booked the room. My sister sent my bathroom baskets via ups and they lost them.

I am scared to say things CAN'T get worse for fear of things getting worse. Oh, ps my ceremony is outside and I think we are having thunderstorms Saturday afternoon.

oh no, i just read this post.

hang in there. it will be a great day. Can you get the regular crutches and spray paint them? If you put a few coats on it won't look bad. Maybe someone who can sew can make covers for the arm and hand things.
