My little cousin is in the hospital updated

She was put in last night. She has colitis. And apparently the meds she was on made it worse and now she has to stay in for 1 week or more. And to make it worse today is her 13th birthday. They have to put a pick in her today so she gets some food into her. I am going to see her later today.

**Update**

Went to see her last night. And the nurse said she can probably go home friday or saturday cause she is doing alot better. She was so glad we went to see her. We were her only visitors all day. How horrible is that. Her mother went for about 30min the the morning and then went home nd her dad din't go see her at all. But I am glad she will be going home. We are going back tonight. She will be staying with us for the rest of the summer.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I have something similiar and the original meds that they put me on made me worse so I decided not to take any because I felt better without the meds. Wish her a happy birthday and I hope all goes well with her tests.

aww im sorry, that is such a horrible disease. My SIL has crohn's (similar) and last year for her wedding she was so sick that she couldn't eat or drink anything and could barely enjoy the day. it was so sad. I can't imagine it for a 13 year old..poor baby!!!! My heart goes out to her!!

Yeah when they first told her she had colitis they said it was starting to be crohn's. So I guess if it's not treated it can become that. And what is worse is that her own mother new she was having stomach problems for over 1 year and never took her to the doctor. and they said they if she went in when it first happened they would have given her medicine and it would have been gone.
