my mom Update 11:30

she was just picked up by ambulance. She is having severe stomache pains and is vomiting. I hope everything is okay. SHe had her gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago so the dr was concerned that she ruptured something... i hope thats not the case.. hopefully its just food poisoning but the Dr. said it wouldnt cause stomache pains..

i dont know! my sister and my dad went. im going to wait here, my brother isnt home yet.

UPDATE: 9:50

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! You are all sooooo very supportive!

I just got back from the hospital.. they still dont know anything. They think its possibly a gall stone left behine from when her gallbladder was removed 3 wks ago.. they are waiting to do the catscan.

As of right now I dont know if we are going away tomorrow. depending if my mom needs surgery. MY dad said for me to go. but i dont think i will be ok doing that.

ill keep you posted if i find out more.

UPDATE 11:30

They are transfering my mom to LIJ. They think she either has built up fluid or and Infection from the surgery. they cant tell for sure because she wasnt able to drink enough of the fluid she needs to take to be able to read the scan.

so we are still waiting.. i feel so helpless

Does it make sense that she could have an infection from the surgery from 3 weeks ago

well i hope it all works out ok and i think its so nice of you guys to possibly cancel your trip to stay with your mom. us girls have to be there for mom right??

yes i will be a craziperson if im not here to know whats going on.,.. but my dad keeps telling me to go. FMIl is so good she called to find out how my mom was and said not to worry, if you cant go we will just postpone the trip, its a family trip and it wouldnt be the same if we went without you. she is sooooo good, i just feel bad that they might lose time from there vacation.

oh my gosh! figures right as your about to go away.. but at least its happening now not while your stuck far from home.. i hope shes okay!!

i'm so sorry, but at least they are getting her to a place where they can give her the best treatment possible. it's a good sign.

oh Gina I am sorry to hear your mom is still not all better as of yet. She is definitely in my houghts and prayers as are you and your family

I only can imagine how hard it must be just waiting around for an answer.

Actually my mom just called the house about 15 mins ago and told us that they are keeping my Nana in the hospital overnight cause she did have a minor heart attack...so she cant leave!

It stinks cause now my dad's mom as I think I mentioned last week has been diagnosed again with her cancer and now my mom's mom is in the hospital cause she had a heart attack today!

Becoming older is not fun I am seeing!

BUT I hope your mother begins to get better! We will be thinking of you!!

thakns again catie. I know its so hard not knowing and i feel so bad because FIL's will pstpone their trip too..

What is going on.. i feel so bad for you.. both grandmas sick!!! i can imagine how youa re feeling..

i think we need a support group!

will keep your mom in my prayers......it is very possible that she has an infection from the surgery....at least she is getting proper care now.

I am so sorry Gina. It is possible to get an infection three weeks after surgery. My grandmother got one when they did surgery on her for ovarian cancer and she was put in the hospital. She got through it and is just as strong as before she went in. You mother is going to be ok. I am going to say some more prayers. We are all here for you.

to answer ur last question about the infection.. yes it is possible...

but at least shes gettign all the help she needs.

Yes, it does make sense. This just happened to a close friend of my parents.

He was really sick for awhile, but he is on the road to recovery.

Hang in there!! I'm sure everything will work out fine
