Re: my mother....
Ha! My moom has made mention of stuff like that! I told her of course we will have posed pictures and pictures where you can see everyone's face but we also want pics that capture the day's essance and you do that when you don't pose for every single picture!

Re: my mother....
My mother made a face when I said I want our photographer to go to my FH's house before me and take some pics of the guys goofing off and getting ready. She told me to make sure the photo. gets here early enough to take all of OUR family shots. I had to explain to her how important it is that FH's family has some pics of BEFORE since FH is one of two boys so there will never be a bride in the house. She keeps saying 'that's nice, but make sure he takes enough pics of you, YOU'RE the bride'

Re: my mother....
Since we are sharing mother stories....My mother wants to be involved in EVERYTHING. She threw a fit because I booked a place without showing her -- by the way we are paying for our wedding ourselves. She already has the best photographer, the best musician she is pushing me to book.
Just a comment on my pic I would take... but she wants to decide everything.

Re: my mother....
Mom definitely thinks this is HER wedding. I try to be graceful and polite. But sometimes it's hard. When I showed my mother my idea of the perfect invitation, she turned her nose up at it. She insists that my invite should be similar to hers. (As hers is the model of perfection)

Re: my mother....
This is the best, at the photographer, my mother asked if he would be taking couple's shots...Since when is it a prom..?All I can say is try to be as patient as possible...she is probably doing all this to mak sure your day is beautiful..I preach well, but I lose it with her sometimes

Re: my mother....
My mom keeps telling me, that epople won't notice that the font doesn't match or if a color is off, and I keep telling I will noticce and I am the bride so if I don't like it, then I am going to change it.And she keeps saying well wehat is the big deal, noone will ntoice. At that point I get ****ed becaseu she tends to not listen at times.
But I love her anyway, and I know she doesn't want me to go crazy with a lot of little things, but that is the way I am.

Re: my mother....
Yeah they all have something to say I guess...My FMIL told me that if the videographer comes near her she will turn around. My response was 'Your behavior will be forever documented on film, do what you want'

Re: my mother....
wants to know every aspect any everything the vendor's offer. If I don't tell her she gets ****ed off, hell-who's wedding is it? I love her and all, but my patience is wearing thin. Down to the rings that she thinks did not cost enough. On top of my fi and I paying for the wedding ourselves(I live at home also), she wants money for food, bills, etc... Maybe I am expecting to much, but I live paycheck to paycheck and I am paying for a wedding. AGHHHHHH!!

Re: my mother....
It has gotten to the point where I do the opposite of everything my mother suggests!!!It started with the catering hall-she hated the menu at Russo's (keep in mind there is an 11 choice dinner menu) and she said it was 'gaudy'. When we went there she says 'hmm..this is probably the nicest hall I've seen'. Grrr....
THEN it was the dress! That was a horrible nightmare as she DEMANDED that I get a dress with SLEEVES....the women at the bridal salons TRIED to tell her how they don't make too many dresses with sleeves anymore, and that a dress with sleeves would eat me up, but she didn't care. I ended up kicking her out of Kleinfeld and getting what I wanted. Who has to wear it anyway?
The newest drama is that SHE WANTS a mass, not just a ceremony. Well I had originally asked for a mass, but after going to a ceremony at the same church this weekend, I thought it was long enough and being that FH's family is not religious and only my dad goes to church, it would be pointless to have the eucharist. She said 'but it LOOKS better on the video' Is she kidding me? With the exception of the vows, everyone I know fast forwards that part!!!
Now she is insisting on me dancing to 'daddy's little girl'...I am CRINGING thinking about it! AND I HAVE to do the garter toss-bc 'some traditions you HAVE to do'. So now, even though I wanted to do it anyway, I will now take that part out. She needs to keep her mouth shut!!!
Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

Re: my mother....
I have the opposite problem.......my lovely mother couldn't care less! She is annoyed by the whole thing. So as punishment...the Dj will be announcing her first. She hates having people notice her and then I am seating her with my neighbors. I am very close with my neighbors but she can't stand them. She doesn't want to go dress shopping or have her hair and makeup done (all of which I would gladly pay for).PS I am her ONLY daughter........don't most moms dream of this???

Re: my mother....
It makes me feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one whose mom has a miserable comment for almost everything that I like!!! I'm her third daughter getting married, when we went to MACYS one of the women said oh you must have cried when your daughter tried on her dress. Her answer uh no shes the 3rd I'm over all this wedding stuff. Don't get me wrong she has helped me alot but she can at least act happy. She needs to stop acting like my whole wedding planning is a chore.
To all the girls with moms that should keep there mouths shut when they don't have anything nice to say!!

Im one of 2 daughters and for my sisters wedding my mother was no help with the planning(cause my grandma was sick) so now its like shes pulling double attention time on me.
