Ok so after waiting over a year for my dress I started having nightmares that I wouldnt fit in it. Well lastnight was my fitting, and I dont have any pictures and Im so depressed now. MY DRESS DIDN'T FIT. It was to small. I worked so hard and lost weight so I would look beautiful for my FH and for what. I am this fat cow who is to big for a dress i paid 2000 for. Ive been crying ever since I got home last night. Snapping at everyone cause I feel so stupid to think that I could ever look pretty. So here is what the bridal store said. First the women gets the dress on me buttons the top and then tries to zipper me. Then she asks did you gain weight. I was petrified cause i lost 10lbs. So my cousin was like she lost weight so then the women remesurred me and was like well u lost weight but the dress is 3 inches to small W T F how can that be. 3 inches what if i didnt lose weight, so the dress was ordered to small im so depressed she said she will try to let it out but the bead work will have a gap she said she will fill it in but it wont be exactly the same. She said no one will notice but I still want to know how the dress was ordered or made to small for me when they took the messurments.
Has anyone else had to get their dress let out and how did it look. Could you tell. . . . I just want to call the whole wedding off im so fed up with everything going wrong. Oh and they messed up on my veil and slip too. ARGGGG I just want to hide under a rock and cry.

the same thing happened to my friend - her back had buttons also, they made it into a corset back - it looked like thats how the dress was supposed to be....let me find a pic!!

DOnt be so hard on yourself...You are a beautiful woman, weight or no weight....your FH proposed to you for a reason and Im sure it had nothing to do with weight..... Please don't let that ruin your wedding....You cried last night....no more tears allowed! Cheer up and start looking for a 'back up' dress just in case this place doesnt get it right......You will be okay! And you will be a BEAUTIFUL bride!

What is the style of the dress?? is it a ball gown, Aline or mermaid?? Ball gown can def. be fixed around your hips and A-line should be able to be dropped enough, I think they only problem would be the straight or mermaid...

First off - your weight does not determine your looks - you are a beautiful girl!!!
I am so sorry that happened. My dress came in about 2-3 inches too short. Measurement mistakes do happen.... Let your seamstress work her magic and you'll see that it'll all be ok.
Don't let this dampen your whole wedding.... you are going to knock FH's socks off when he sees you!! for you!

the same thing just happened to my friend angie her dress was 3 inches to small and she didn't gain weight either. they are going tomlet her dress out a bit.
i would ask them to see there book on what size you order when they measure you for a dress. each company has there own size chart thats what they go by. then you can see if it was there bridal shops fault. these bridal shops once they got your business they know they got you no matter what. and i would make sure your not charged for them letting it out. i think these places scam all us brides to make money on the fittings

Wow what a gorgeous dress! I can't see why they couldn't fix the hip area...if they make it slightly less of a drop waist..you should be fine and it will still look gorgeous...
Like I said before, if you are uneasy about them doing it, try my seamstress...she's amazing!

Don't put yourself down over this......you worked hard to lose this weight & you look beautiful. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses run in all sorts of wacky sizes.
Breathe.....your seamstress will be able to work wonders with the dress, you'd be really surprised. My dress came in and it was fine, then my seamstress made it to short (panic attack) & somehow she managed to fix it and you couldn't even tell....
I would however take this up with the store, b/c somewhere along the line someone messed up in ordering. The store should measure the dress....& see if it matches up with designers sizing chart, that's a way they can determine who really messed up. Maybe the designer put a size 16 tag on a size 10 dress....you never know.

thank you so much. . . . the women said that she can let it out and no one would notice it, she also said she would fill in the area with her beads and match it as best as possible. She said she has been in the buisness a long time and she wouldnt want me to be unhappy and to relax easy for her to say its not her dress. She said that it look as though she would be able to do it without adding any material and that its only by the hip. Im sure she will do a good job im just upset cause its so messed up. When the women messured me in Jan 06 she showed me my messurments and the companys size and i was between a 14 and 16 so i said get the 16 so if i dont lose weight i know it fits. I lost weight and its small and she wanted me to get the 14 . . ahhhh

yea im trying to relax, everyone keeps saying that it will be ok. . . but i feel so fat and ugly because of this. . .

The same thing happened to me and the took it out - I needed to lose 5 inches in a month.. they thought they could only take it 2 inches but the wound up being able to take it out 3 inches and I lost 2.... they just added extra beading and it was fine... nobody noticed.... it will work out... I felt the same way.. I lost weight from when I bought the dress and then when I went for my fitting it didnt fit.. but you will be gorgeous on your wedding day
