My Pet Peeve of the Day (sure to cause some strife)

My Pet Peeve of the Day (sure to cause some strife)

Is there any reason why grown women, when talking to one another, especially on a message board where it is not face-to-face, cannot say the word PERIOD??? It's not your TOM (time of month), your Aunt Flo, your friend, etc. It's your period. I've seen this on other message boards that I use as well. What's the deal with that? Why can't we say period? How about menses? Menstruation? Anything other than those cutesie little euphemisms. Please!

This was not brought on by anyone in particular. It's something that has always bothered me, but I'm a little cranky right now and needed to unleash.

There, I feel better now. Thank you.

See and I am the opposite, I never like the word Period for that, though I use it. To me what I see is not a small dot

When I was younger, and embarrassed to say it in front of my father, I would call it my 'Dot at the End of a Sentence.'

OK, no menses. I don't particularly like that one much, either, but I can't stand TOM and AF.

Yeah, menses is an awkward word.

Somewhat on the topic, am I the only one who does not like the “V” word? Hoping no one needs me to explain what I am referring to. I just feel like it’s too clinical…maybe I’m just weird…

OH that's what AF meant.. I just blur out any posts with that cause I had no idea what they were referring to.

Im one the lucky ones..
My Period doesn’t bother me enough to be a topic of conversation. I have no reason to refer to it at all.

I think it’s unfair we have it.. it’s an annoyance, but it’s not like I can do much about so I just take it in stride.

When I was little, my mom called the 'V-word' a doodlebug. I still cannot get past calling it that. It drives my hubby crazy. so much for talking dirty in bed

I prefer to take it lying down and drugged up, thank you very much.

Hey.. i like my name Veronica
Seriously the words in reference to our younder regions all are stupid. Created by man of course.....

Vagina - it sounds odd like it doesn't belong.

But it's better than saying my pussy or twat. Mabye we just call it the down below.

Heck I like the word Cervix better than vagina.

May I add this is one VERY twisted thread?
