First of all I want to thank you all for all your good thoughts and prayers. On the way to work this morning I had an accident. I hit a pedestrian while making a left turn. I am not making excuses but between the rain and it being dark out the driving conditions were horrible. From what the EMS and police told me is that he was going to be ok- no broken bones- no bleeding just a little bruising. Even though they all told me he will be ok and everyone has told me that these things happen, The police and EMS all told me they know it was an accident. I am having a very hard time dealing with this. I keep going over in my head how this happened and how I didnt see him. I called my cousin who is a priest and talked things out with him. I wanted to make a confession of sorts, but he told me that no confession was necessary since it was an accident. I am still crying and I cant seem to forgive myself. This is so hard trying to deal with this. Again I want to thank you all for you prayers and hope I can count on all your continued support.

Celia I know its hard but try not to beat yourself up over it. Accidents happen. You did not do anything vicious. There are so many people out there that do horrible things while driving...like drunk driving, putting the lives of children in danger..etc. You didn't do any of that. You had an accident and that happens. Try not to take it too hard. There's a greater power that knows your a good person who means well. You and your family know that. And of course all the girls on here know that. Stay strong!! We're here for you!

i can imagine what you're going through because it happened to me. it is a really awful feeling, but you have to keep reminding yourself that it was an accident and it could happen to anyone.

It was an accident and I'm sure the person knows that as well. Thankfully they're okay. Sometimes, no matter how careful we are, things happen. Hope you feel better soon!

I know that you're feeling down, but remember that it is an accident. Everyone is OK. You did nothing intentional. Forgive yourself. You deserve to be able to.

Celia, so sorry you're upset and this happened. It was an accident and there's nothing you could've done. I have a hard times with lefts too bc I'm short and the mirror gets in the way. You're not making excuses, just stating factors that contributed to it. The person is ok and from what it sounds like, will be fine. Look at it from that aspect. Although it sounds bad now, down the road everything will be fine. Please try and feel better about it.

Oh Celia I am so sorry to hear this but try not to beat yourself up about it, accidents happen, and I know its a terrible thing that happened but you definitely did the right thing by following up to see how the pedestrian was doing and making sure he is ok!

The fact that you want to 'confess' is a true sign of your integrity. You're a good person and accidents happen. Thankfully everyone is well and no one is seriously injured. Giving today's weather, there were a few accidents everywhere we looked. It happens. Don't be too hard on yourself. Trust yourself and do not be afraid to get behind the wheel again. It hasn't happened before, it won't again.
