i know 99% of you are meat eaters and prob 85% of my guests are as well
I am going to post my sample menu - its not finalized but i want to know if this stuff sounds yummy or not to the avg meat eater.
1) Eggplant Rollatini 2) Pan Seared Seitan over mushroom orzo w/ red wine sauce 3) Rissoto w/butternut squas, parsnips, cranberries & hazelnut
Side items- Broccoli Rabe Roasted Potatoes w/rosemary
I still have a few more to think of.
im a dumbass- its roasted potatoes not mushrooms!

And no meat at all- FH is vegan and I am vegetarian- against our beliefs to eat meat and/or serve it
and BTW....we have the viennese hour as well so whoever doesnt eat can fill up on cotton candy, caramel apples and everything else to rot their teeth!

cocktail hour - theres gonna be a stir fry station lots of cheeses and vegetables and dips hummus & baba ganouj lots of fruit crackers and pita bread for dipping hoping to get some grape leaves too
MMMM..You so won me over with cheese and hummus!

I'm a vegetarian and I'll be honest I'm not a fan of Eggplant Rollatini. I'm eat it if i have to but i just don't like it.

The CH items sound good and I like the sides but personally I wouldn't choose any of the entrees. But I'm sure I could fill up on all the other yummy stuff

thats mainly for the meat eaters since its something that most people have heard of and are familiar with

i would eat eggplant rollatini AND risotto - i LOVE LOVE LOVE risotto.
in my opinion, i would change the second choice to something else. most people here said they don't like eggplant or risotto and i am assuming most won't eat the seitan if they dont eat eggplant or risotto - maybe add a pasta or something?
oh, and the sides i love too - LOVE broccoli raabe!

It's hard b/c food is so subjective but here are my thoughts. is this buffet or separate entrees b/c you could add to to the following
1) Eggplant Rollatini maybe add w/ spinach and side of pasta 2) Pan Seared Seitan over mushroom orzo w/ red wine sauce
I happen to love seitan so this sounds amazing to me
I love rissotto too but wonder that all the veg you have with this are also heavy starches. . squash, parsnips etc.. it DOES sound good but possible you could throw something lighter on it?
also in the end it doesnt really matter. people will eat and be happy . .went to a vegan indian wedding in TEXAS where most people didnt recognize any of the food but once they started eating they were like. . okay. . I'm in .
also is this buffet or plated?

the menu sounds great too me!! would you maybe want to display the meaning of seitan, because unless a vegitatian is at the table they are going to be clueless and maybe even the wait staff, but i think it sounds delicious i want an invite lol!!!

It buffet-
i figure since it may be out of some peoples comfort zones i wanted to give people the option of anything they want
and yea im def gonna have some meanings as well as stating whether its vegan or not because there will be a decent number of vegans there as well

ioh I think this is a lot better. . and yeah the explanations help b/c mostly I think people just don't like to eat what they don't know. . when I was a hardcore veg in HS I made tofu and told my brother it was chinese cheese.. easier than explaining tofu at the time!!
i think it will be great. . or you can always just avoid words like seitan and say 'stir fry' then let them guess

that sounds good.. but i would add like a pasta entree.. like a butternut squash ravoli or something like that... just because you may have meat eaters that will be unhappy and I know its your wedding but you know how people are.... they will just be miserable all night (which isnt your problem) but probably better to give them more choices
the Rissoto sounds yummy!

i just fixed my OP- it was supposed to be rosemary roasted potatoes not mushrooms- I GOT SHROOMS ON THE BRAIN.
and Seitan is a meat substitute- it takes on the flavors of whatever you cook it with.- like tofu

i would add a pasta to the main course (even if you have a pasta course before hand) Just in case someone doesnt like the three choices, they can have meatless lasagna or something... and have something on their plate.
