My Wedding Review 9/27 (very long)

Finally I'm getting to post my review. We just bought a computer and finished hooking it up. So now for my review.

They had predicted rain for 9/27 and I was so worried because the ceremony, pictures, and cocktail hour were scheduled for outside so the night before I hung my rosary beads and invitation in the window.

Friday morning we had our make-up and hair done at 8:30 at Salon Jalesse. They did a Fantastic job. It was lightly raining when we left and by 10:00 it had stopped. We were all done by 11:15.

At 12:00 Burtons showed up with the flowers which I had slightly been worrying about----they were also beautiful. My bouquet was 3 dozen white roses and a few stephanopioits (sp?) wrapped with a white ribbon. The girls had lavender and white roses with purple lithiansus. There was also a few other purple flowers hanging out of the bouquets which had I seen them before would have said no but they still looked beautiful. Burtons sent for the house a beautiful arrangement of flowers matching the girls and part of the centerpiece with a congratulations card. The centerpieces were gorgeous!! They were tall in a glass vase with the lavender, purple, and white roses, purple lithiansus, 4 hydrangeas 2 purple and 2 peri. I was very happy. We had gone the day before to see a sample of the centerpiece which was exactly what I had even better for the wedding. Since we were unsure with the weather they had sent a trellis to Port Jefferson Country Club in case the ceremony would be inside. The aisle outside they lined with tulle on both sides and ribbon. For the gazebo they did a beautiful swag which matched all the other flowers. The guys all had roses. Our moms had tiny rose bouquets with 6 light pink roses.

Photographer was ADA. We had John who was very nice and full of ideas. Since it was not raining when he got to my house we took all of our pictures outside in the backyard around my moms gardens and the pool. As soon as we were done we left to pick up the guys and took a few pictures of my DH seeing me for the first time. Then we were off to Cedar Beach to take more pics. We were able to pull some work related strings and have a lifeguard stand put up on the beach so they lifted me up and we took pictures up there as well. We had so much fun!! After we went to the country club and took the remainder of our pictures outside. We finished by 4:30 and only had to take 3 family pictures during the reception. Our video was also through ADA and we had Ronnie who again was also very nice and you barely knew he was there.

Limo was through Encore a Lincoln Navigator. The Navigator was very nice big and clean no complaints. They arrived on time and was well worth it.

All of our dresses were from Bridal Suite of Centereach which did a Great Job!!

Now for the Ceremony and Reception at Port Jefferson Country Club....our Maitre D and Bridal Attendent was Darcie she was good she did get a little snotty at times but other wise no complaints. We were able to have our ceremony outside and we were very happy. We had a judge(friend of his parents) do our ceremony it was his first. Unfortunately b/c of traffic he was alittle late but he did a great job. The very end of our ceremony it started to rain scattered big drops and I could see Darci and our DJ trying to get the Judges attention to speed things up but it stopped by the time we got down the aisle. Following the rain shower was a double rainbow. The cocktail hour was upstairs.
We've been told the food was delicious. We hardly ate. The dinner was a choice between stuffed shrimp, filet mignon, and cornish game hens.

Our cake was a 3 tier cake with basket weave design and cascading flowers from The Rolling Pin. We had 2 vanilla cakes one with canoli filling, one with chocolate mousse and the third was a chocolate cake with raspberry filling. We had so many compliments about the cake.

Apple Entertainment----TJ he was fantastic! We wish we could have him again soon. He played everything we had discussed. The dance floor was packed all night. We could not have asked for anything better.

The last minute we chose not to go on a honeymoon. My DH had never been on a plane and was very nervous. So we chose just to stay home. We did go out to the hamptons and to the beach and NYC. I had never been up the Empire State building so we did that as well.

I am so happy that Burtons did a good job. Every time I have dealth with them they have been very helpful and nice. I know that there have been a limited number of unhappy brides that used them, but I also know that they also help 'fix' any problems if a bride is unhappy with something. I do not expect any problems (but will report after 11/2)

I am glad your day went so nicely. I am also getting my gown and the girl's from BS Centereach. They are wonderful to deal with.
