First of all, sorry for your loss.

Though the ending is not tragic, I do know of a bride whose father had a heart attack during the father/daughter dance. The bride is a nurse and luckily she was able help her dad. She accompanied him to the hospital while the groom stayed with the guests in the hall.

First I just want to say I am so sorry

I can't imagine what you are going through.

Just so you know you are not alone. Weddings bring out such happiness and excitement for people who's heart or health might not be able to take it.

I went to a wedding where a guy had an epiletic seizure on the dance floor...ambulance came and all....but it still was such sadness at the wedding...

But years ago I went to a wedding of a family member where her grandfather (i was on the grooms side) passed out in his dinner....when EMS arrived he was gone....it ruined her wedding and devasted her...but now she looks back and says there is a reason why god made him be there......and that makes her happy.....

So you are not alone.....and in the end he made it to see you and your husband......but you and your family are in my thoughts...just wanted to let you know you are not alone..

I know you had asked if this had ever happened...well I told my Mom tonight about this and what had happened to you and your family and she said she was at a friends wedding in her early 20's and the bride's ( her friend) father died during the reception. I guess it shows us how valuable every moment is.

Yes, I have heard of tragedy happening like this many times at wedding. Life is full of surprises and shocks.

I am so sorry for your loss. I agree with everyone that he was with his family and having a wonderful time the last moments of his life. He was surrounded by loved ones.

I did hear of a similar situation where the bride's aunt had a heart attack during the last dance and they were not able to save her. It is horribly sad that this would happen at such a happy occasion.

Ever since I got engaged, the constantl prayer has been for all our family and friends to arrive and get home safely and soundly on that day and beyond. Anything can happen at anytime - death doesn't wait for quiet moments - but to lose someone so abruptly is never easy. You were blessed with his presence at your wedding and now he and his brother are together in the mysterious void. I am glad you have your parents and husband and they have you to comfort each other and know that you are very, very loved. I wish you peace in your hearts.
