My officiant sent me the signed license the day after the ceremony and our bank took that as the documentation, so we didn't need to wait for the official cert from the town. If you have that, maybe your job will accept that as well?
Don't have it. The certificate is probably sitting crumpled up in the bottom of a bin at the post office.
Still nothing as of yesterday.
I made a complaint about our mail service considering this isn't the first piece of super important mail that disappears. Not too long ago DH recieved a small scholarship for nursing school that was to be delivered to our house in a check through USPS - delivery confirmation signature required, all that jazz.
Long story short, we got a call from a woman who lives in our neighborhood (I wouldn't call her a neighbor since she lives blocks away, but in the same zip code.) She said she found the envelope with the check jammed in her door one afternoon - she didn't sign for it or anything. The address and name on the envelope were totally illegible so she opened it and saw it was not meant for her. She called up DH's school to get his phone number so she could return the check to him. She was so sweet about the whole thing we gave her a bottle of wine :)
But yeah the post office sucks, hard.

That is very frustrating but it's refreshing to know that there are good people out there :)
