Naming your son a junior or III?

Original post by nrvbrd

What are your thoughts on this?

I am not a big fan of this. I would want my son to have his own name. Fh is a junior and he is not even called by his name- he has to be called junie or junior which I do not like. He even presented the idea of continuing the tradition if we have a son.
I would not mind them sharing a middle name, but that is as far as I would like to go.

I never did like it but my FI is a Jr. His father started this company and they have a family vineyard so now FI wants our first son to be a III. I was against it at first but now I see the tradition and I have gotten used to the idea

I'm not a big fan of that either... IMO I feel that they the kids should have their own identity, ya know?

FH is a junior. They call him Carlito. Which has become his nickname. If we have a son he would have Carl’s name as the middle name. We plan on having all our children carry a middle name from someone in our families. It’s a tradition within my family. But I wouldn’t want to have III or IV. That gets to be too much I think.
