I went to wedding at Jericho Terrace back in January and the food was great and there was a lot of it. The service wasn't all that great though at least at our table. Also there are lots of stairs. As far as photos I think they're all done indoors which is beautiful but I wasn't a fan of the guests watching the couple as they take photos as well as guests from another wedding going on at the same time. I love the outdoors of Westbury Manor but the interior not so much haven't been to a wedding there yet but my neighbor got married there and her pictures are gorgeous.

Im thinking of oct- nov wedding so i dont know how the outside weather is going to be if it rains or not- so i need to have a plan B for pictures

Narrowed down to 2 venues!

I went to westbury manor for a wedding in December and was not impressed. The dinner food was awful, I had the salmon and shrimp which was so over cooked, I didn't eat it. The service was pretty bad as well - the waiter seemed like he didn't care and seemed annoyed when I asked him a question. When the cocktail hour was over they were practically throwing us out party out of the room. They were having other events during the wedding and there were teenage girls from a sweet sixteen running around and in the bathrooms. I also found that there was not enough seating or tables in the cocktail hour area so I ended up standing to eat my food in a corner. I don't know...maybe my experience was a fluke since everyone here seems to love westbury manor?? I really hate posting negative reviews but I definitely struck westbury manor off my list after that wedding. Two good things though: the cocktail hour food was very good and they called a cab for us to get home which was nice!

Narrowed down to 2 venues!

Both Venues are beautiful!

I went to a wedding at JT it was a Friday in Nov. and they had two other weddings going on it felt crowded. Getting our coats from coat check was a nightmare because all the guests from each event were all trying to either check their coats or get their coats, bathroom was full had to wait in line. JT is again beautiful, food was good, service (waiters, valet) was friendly and courteous, It wasn't a horrible experience but it felt like a wedding warehouse. I don't think the timing of the events were planned accordingly that day.

I have been to WM for company parties and for a wedding, to me it felt more like home, if that makes sense. WM's food never disappoints and there grounds are beautiful. I know they too may have more than one event at a time but I have been there about 5 times and each time has always felt like there was only one event taking place.

Narrowed down to 2 venues!

My final two contenders were actually Jericho Terrace and Westbury Manor too and honestly the only reason I was able to make a decision between the two was because my FH loved WM just a liiiitle bit more than JT since our original vision was a manor-y type of wedding which WM allowed us to have without the exorbitant prices.

While both venues can have more than one event at a time, which was a huge issue for me since I wanted something more intimate, we were able to basically get WM for the entire evening to ourselves since we are getting married on a Sunday.

JT was def better about throwing in more food options but regardless you get a great amount of food at both of them and from the tastings I've had, both were excellent.

I thought bringing out parents to help us choose would've been helpful but both end up liking different ones better (which only led to more difficulty in choosing a venue since one set of parents was going to be disappointed...so just a precaution)

You cannot go wrong either way. Just try to envision the kind of day you want to have. Even though me and my FH chose WM, we both said we would go back to JT for any other kind of event we'd have in the future.

When i went to see the venue on a sunday afternoon-eve I saw the line on the coat check and I didn't even think about that.
They had 2 events going on.

When I saw Wesbury Manor they had 2 events going on and 1 setting up for the evening and I only saw people for 1 event. granted that was cause we were walking near the room they were in and getting an idea of the space.

You brought up good points THank you

You're right my FH is more for JT cause they're threw in more food, desserts and ice sculptures.
I'm more for WM cause its cheaper and i think what they're offering is still good
I see your having your wedding this OCt where are you takign your pictures at the venue? I know they have a beautiful outside but what if it rains? where inside are you taking? if you are taking any?

Re: Narrowed down to 2 venues!

The church we are getting married at has a nice little courtyard area so we were planning to take some pictures there and then also at Westbury Manor.

If it does rain, we just decided that we would take the pictures inside. They do have a photo studio room upstairs near the bridal suite for pictures, but we would probably use our reception room as much as possible as well.

Honestly, neither of us minds getting a little wet so we'd be willing to go out in the rain too just to get some pictures out there.

And food wise, I figure as long as there is a good amount for the guests I am fine with it. If my engagement party was any indication, we don't get to eat anything at our own parties lol

Narrowed down to 2 venues!

Hey;

So I love Westbury Manor and am just 374 Days! The other thing I love that I didn't see anyone bring up yet is they have a photo studio right there too. So even on the unfortunate occurrence of rain you will get an area devoted to photos not to mention the library where the cocktail hour is too has some beautiful area for photos which you should be able to do if your having the ceremony there too.

Jerricho Terrace I went to a wedding about 4 years ago, I loved everything about it except the food was kind of yucky. I had a really dry duck. Duck is my favorite animal to eat and what they did to that one was a crime. The cocktail hour was food pretty good but not enough service, waiting most of the time I wanted to be eating just to get a drink. Finally I just found the room that they had the cocktail hour in a little tacky, but the main room was beautiful. but again as someone said I remember seeing a number of cosmetic issues. As a guest I normally don't remember those sort of things or even spot them, but for them to have been memorable they were pretty blatant.

Thank you for input xoxox

Narrowed down to 2 venues!

I've been to both places for weddings and events. And it was for the same family. Personally I liked and had more fun at WM. Ultimately it's up to you and your FH. U say Whichever place works best with your budget and will give you more for your buck is the correct choice.
