Need some prayers girls for FFIL.....
I hate doing this......
My FFIL was in a horrible accident last weekend. FFIL, FH and FBIL were in FFIL's car driving back from SUNY Albany (where the previous night my other FBIL was in a car accident - thank God he's OK).
Anyway, they're northbound on the Cross Bronx Expressway when a 20 year old drunk driver came flying onto the parkway. My FFIL had to stop short and somehow cut into the center lane to avoid hitting this kid. My FFIL was so annoyed that he caught up to this kid and my FI started yelling at him from the car (not realizing he was drunk). So now this kid starts playing cat and mouse and weaves continually into the center lane trying to hit FFIL's car. They quickly realize something must be wrong with this kid and try to get away. They cut in front of this kid in the right lane and speed up - but this kid does the same and rear ends my FFIL's car. So they pull over (as much as you can on the Cross Bronx) to check car damages. The kid pulled up behind them and must have freaked out as my FFIL was getting out of the car and the kid tried to get away ..... he hit a car towing a boat in the center lane, but then this kid cut the wheel all the way to the right and drove directly into my FFIL pinning him between his car and this kids car!
My FI and FBIL both thought that their father was dead and then this kid got out of his car and started to run up the Cross Bronx to get away. My FI and FBIL ran after him and caught him and called 911. The kid was arrested and my FFIL was taken to the hospital.
By some miracle his only major injury has been a shattered left tibia (which will require major surgery). However, he has a laundry list of previous medical problems which is making surgery very risky. The surgery also had to be put off b/c he is having difficulites with his kidneys and fighting a horrible urinary track infection causing a high fever.
Every time I tell this story I feel like people must think I'm making it up b/c it is so convoluted. But I swear this happened all b/c some 20 year old kid decided to drink and drive at 7:15 in the morning!!!
I never do this but I really need your prayers girls. The surgery is tentively scheduled for this week and it will not be easy. Please keep FFIL in your prayers this week. I'm so scared!![]()
