need to vent....

OK , today our best man proposed to his longtime girlfriend. We are sooo happy for them, they are perfect together. I became a little upset however when they told us they set their date for June 15, 2007 which is like 3wks before ours. Am I wrong for being upset??? I just dont think it is fair to do it right before us, plus it is in another state, so in the middle of getting everything set for our wedding, now I have to treck there!!! UGH

ouch.. no I think I would be alil annoed too. Im sorry but hopefully you guys will have most of your stuff ready b4 u have to trutt there.. are you guys part of the wedding party?

I dunno. I kinda think 3 weeks is enough time in btwn the 2, plus you're not in the bridal party so you shouldn't have any extra responsibilities.

I could see it being more of a prob if you were bm or moh.

I know how you feel. One of my friends isn't even engaged yet but she is planning her wedding 4 weeks before ours.

Who know's where yet but whatever...

It is a problem because George will probably be in the party, so he will have responsibilities and its BOTH of your weddings...

plus you had your wedding date set way before theirs and he is in your wedding party - he is the best man; not like he is just a guest...

Its going to be crazy for you those weeks...plus I know how you feel - i would feel the same way!

Why do people do this???? It is like they are secretly trying to undermine you and your plans

. One of the guys in our BP (who is VERY close to FH) asked his GF to marry him four months after we got engaged (IMO because he was trying to follow suit), but she declined

don't worry about it, it will work out.

Well I would be upset too, you planned your day first and it's not fair to you, but on the other hand you can't really get mad at them because the have the 'right' to pick any day they want. Althought they should have considered how you would feel and how hard it may be for their close friends to travel and pay to be in their BP so close to their wedding.

I agree that it really isn't right. Knowing that her FH is in YOUR bridal party and that you have been planning your wedding for some time now she should have done it afterwards. So nope, you're not being a bridezilla - I would have been annoyed as well.

yeah- i was in a similar sitch- friends of ours got engaged almost a year before us and set their date- we knew it just was not right for us to book ahead of them- so we booked after bc its just the right thing to do!!

its very inconsiderate. i mean, do they seriously think they'll be able to fulfill their responsibilities as your BP? No - because its going to be all about them.
