Not me but my FSIL wouldn't put a Kitchen Aid mixer on her registry because it was 299.99 bucks. Pat and I wound up getting it for her and she told us the story.

I really wanted the swarovski flutes, but decided against registering for them because I thought they were too expensive.

Same thoughts

I didn't put any china dinnerware on mine. I think they are all priced really high, but I've been encouraged by friends to do it, so I might yet.

We actually registered for a delonghi food processor and got it, also I didnt realize it but I had already registered for a food processer/blender combo..I got that too.

Luggage I didnt put because I knew we could get that no problem and the kind of luggage we wanted..didnt want one person to buy one pice and not the rest.

But some gifts definitely looked at teh price and decided not to add them.

My china! But I love it sooo much I registered for it anyway.. I know no one will buy any of it but I might use the 10% off at the end and purchase it for myself.

My registry is almost complete (yes, I am a peeker) BUT of my china only 3 place setting came off. I might buy it for myself if I don't get it. I'm amazed at the amount of really expensive stuff came off - $200 + items

I put my pots and pans
and knife set (i didn't get the knives) on the registry which i felt was VERY PRICY!

We wanted a new comforter with the matching linen set but i was scared nobody would buy the one i liked (Calvin Klien) so we just got Bed, Bath and Beyond linens

We registered for a bbq even though it is quite expensive. We're hoping our parents get it for us. It's something we both want the most out of our registry

The pots and pans that my parents bought a few years ago are almost $500 i think... and I really want to register for them, but i think my mom is just going to get them for me for the bridal shower so no one else thinks i'm crazy!

Heck Yeah!

We were SO price conscious! The people at the store just kept saying, 'Oh, if you want it, scan it!' Well, we know our families pretty well and we know that if they saw, for example, a $400 per place setting set of china, we would NOT be getting any of it.

So really, EVERYTHING that we registered for, we looked at and thought, 'okay, are our aunts likely to buy us this $500 comforter...NOPE, okay pick the $200 comforter that is similar to the $500 one'

In the end, I decided to register for the hanover platinum crytal. I wanted the Wynnewood set, but I thought it was too expensive...hah! I barely got ANY hanover pieces, so I guess I still didn't go cheap enough...

edited to add: I purposely registered at Fortunoff because the prices on their silver flatware are MUCH better than anywhere else. (of course, we ended up buying the silver on our own...)

The kitchen aid stand up mixer & the Haviland china. They were just way too expensive.

Yes, a $400 vacuum.

ETA: oh yeah - I also really wanted this gorgeous Vera Wang china but it was like $40 more per place setting than the others I was looking at. I was definitely cost conscious in my choices.

I wanted this too but thought the same thing so I did not register for it.

Me too! I really want one but thought it was too expensive!

OMG - I could list a million things...the Swarovski toasting flutes, a digital camera, multiple bed sets...the camera was the big thing though.

we have not registered yet - but we know that we are not registering for China. its just too expensive and we don't have a place to put it, since we don't have a place of our own as of yet.

I felt really guilty about putting expensive stuff on the registry but my mother felt that our stuff was not expensive enough
So we registered for it all:
Dyson vacuum cleaner
All Clad
King sized bedding
The biggest Kitchenaid mixer
luggage.
We've actually gotten most of it....still biting my nails on the mixer.
I think we'll buy ourselves that one.

Oh yeah, I just want to add that those of you who want the Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer, register for it. I got one and I love it. You would be surprised with all of the things you can do with it aside from using it when you make. There are a bunch of cool attachments for food grinding, pasta making, can opener, juicer, ice cream maker, etc. It's not just for when you bake.

We registered for ours, and got one, too. They are awesome. People actually said to us that we didn't have enough 'expensive' stuff on the registry, so we went back and added this right after the shower. I think people want a lot of choices.
