Need your help please.

Need your help please.

We are having a debate in the office and need your help. Please respond with the following. Do you have an item that you neglected to put on your registry or mention to someone because you thought it was too expensive? If so, what is it? Please be serious. Not looking for things like a house or 12 thousand dollar plasma screen. TIA!

I really wanted the swarovski flutes, but decided against registering for them because I thought they were too expensive.

Nope! I feel that it gives people an opportunity to chip in or give gift certificates. Also, alot of registry programs give a discount to the couple once the wedding day has passed. So then it allows me to purchase the gift at a discount if I really want it!

Hope that helps!

i wanted the stainless kitchen aid stand-up mixer but figured it was too expensive (at least for the amount of times I would use it)

i registered for a $250 mixer, but i always think people must be thinking i'm a nut when they see it on my registry.

- Svarorski Flutes
- Kitchen Aid 6-Quart Stand Mixer (registered for the 4-1/2 quart instead)
- All-Clad Stainless Pots & Pans (registered for Calphalon instead)
- $150 Lenox place setting, registered for $89.99 Wedgewood setting instead

I think I compromised on some items because I felt I couldn't ask people to spend that much money - or I didn't want a ton of people to chip in for just one thing when FH & I needed so much of everything (we don't live together yet, we don't even have a fork or plate between us)

Nothing here. In fact my mom thought everything I put on my registry was 'too cheap' besides the $350 duvet set.

My mom already got me the stand up mixer.

We put luggage and a Cuisinart Food Processor on our registry. We never once mentioned them to anyone, nor did we expect to get them, but we did get our Cuisinart 14 cup food processor.

My Fh insisted on registering for the good knive set which was 300$ funny i still have not taken it off yet. maybe i will see what happends.

I also wanted the stand up mixer too but he said when are you going to use it. i do bake and probably once a year.
maybe i will just do it and not tell him about that one.

Fine china and silverware. We did register for everyday stuff though.

Re: Need your help please.

I wanted to register for silver (not just silverplate) and my mom told me that no one would buy it. I wish I had registered for it. I have always wanted to set a formal dining room with fine china and real silver flatware and nice crystal.

It's not that I don't like my silverplated flatware, but I know a few people who have real silver and it looks so nice

DH did say that we could buy it in the future, so maybe when we buy the house we intend to raise our family in, we will buy it then.

yes...

Mine was as I think Diva Bride said..The Swarovski Toasting flutes...

And my comforter set ( these things cost an ARM and a LEG!) I went back and forth about it and just yesterday actually added it to my registry and decided hhey maybe someone will win the lottery and buy it for me, if not, nothing I didnt have before right?

I was very careful with my registry to try and pick things we needed but didnt cost a lot...sometimes its hard when you see something you LOVE and it costs a lot more then anyones else LOVES to pay...

Oh yeah, I just want to add that those of you who want the Kitchen-Aid Stand Mixer, register for it. I got one and I love it. You would be surprised with all of the things you can do with it aside from using it when you make. There are a bunch of cool attachments for food grinding, pasta making, can opener, juicer, ice cream maker, etc. It's not just for when you bake.

I wanted this too but thought the same thing so I did not register for it.

The china place setting that we really loved, it was $250 a setting.

So instead we registered for a different one, $120 a setting.

I had a comforter set on my registry, and it was very pricey. FH and I ended up buying it as a housewarming gift to ourselves. I went back and forth about it too, I probably would have taken it off.

I didn't register for any fine china either, because overall it was just too much money when you consider place settings and serving pieces, and I've had a few people tell me that they never use their fine china.
