Okay i have been on these boards just about a year and before that i was lurking for well over a year before that. I have a question that i bring up only because I notice things written on NWR (and other boards) seem to comment on things the new brides to be post on.
Do you all think there is a cycle of maybe jealousy some of the Newlyweds have towards girls planning there weddings? I got that vibe long ago when it was our turn and the older brides seemed to cause drama. Now i see comments on what other brides-to-be say or are planning and to me it all seems like some type of weird cycle.
Just an observation.

Re: New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....
But a lot of it is from people who have been here for a while or are at least in 'addicted' status. I think sometimes people do certain things to p!ss people off. And they continue to do it causet they know it pisses people off
Mind if I put my two cents in? There's a lot of factors that we dont quite realize, but play a significant part in how we all mesh. For newbies, it takes them a while to understand the dynamics of the boards. Its a no-no to ask questions on 'bride's review' or 'newlyweds'. It takes some getting used to. I know I only learned from experience. But when they are corrected or someone mentions a rule, some girls take it the wrong way and get bent out of shape about it. A person's response may be taken the wrong way also. Same goes with learning everyone's personalities. I know to avoid certain people, but I dont classify them as a newlywed, 05er, or 06er. Not everyone is going to get along. Personally, I know it gets boring repeating the same information to the BTB's, but please dont let this discourage you. I for one ALWAYS appreciate a newlywed's (or for that matter anyone's) advice.
I understand what you are saying but there is a division that has been created unneccesarily. The 'them' vs. 'us'. And i know it was started by comments from people that have been here for quite some time...And it is truly sad and hurtful that such comments have been made causing rifts to be formed...
I never saw any division when i was a BTB...Was there drama on NWR HELL YEA..but it wasn't a year/NW thing...
It is there now ! And continues to grow

Diva - I totally see your point about taking the time to learn the workings of LIW. My first bunch of posts must have sounded so dumb... and they most likely were.
As far as a rift, or division, I may not be looking into it deeply enough. I see (and feel) tension between people but not really a division. If it is just me in la-la land missing all of this, good. The point is 2005 will end and then we will all be NW, how can there be a division then?

Or
' i am afraid'
or 'don't let them intimidate us'
'we represented' ????????????????????????????????

You know what else I loved when Someone comes to the NW board and then goes back to the other board and says Becareful where you post. Then a few months later says not all of us cause drama

Are ya going over to the NW when the last 05 girl weds? - We have become a tight knit group of friends mainly from all the GTG's and we want to stick by each other til the last 05er gets married.
I am afraid - Probably because for over a year of being a BTB on the close knit 05 board, moving to a 'new' board with people you dont know and people who dont know you is scary.
We represented - Sorry dont think I remember that one... unless it was from the WOTY???
In which case I have no idea... there were alot of people there.

I don't think it said its scary over there it was 'they' are scary over there. And we are 'mean' and I think a lot of us took that as 'I don't like them so I don't want to go there im staying here let me start a thread'

Re: New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....
I'm not an '05er or a NW, so I'm not in the middle of this, but I personally don't feel it. I think I posted on the NW board a few times at first when i didn't know any better, but everyone was totally nice to me.
I get the same NW feeling though when I see people post the same things 100 times, and obsess over crazy little things they think are so important. I'm sure I obsess over my share of crazy little things, but I've been on this board for over a year, so I've seen a LOT of the same threads go by. I just try to ignore them if I feel I'm going to make a cynical comment.
I think some brides are just really self absorbed, and the think that life, including LIW revolves around them.

i've ben reading all this and i kind of agree with the concensus. we get sooo many new brides that ask questions that some of us have answered over 100x times, but we have to take it in strde. its easy to jump on them and attack them for not knowing about invites or e-partys or whatever. but in my own personal experience, i'd rather take advise from someone's who has already been there, then a newbie like me. i skim through the nw board, but never really make comments simple b/c i am not a nw. but there are others that feel like just b/c they are getting married, they are entitled to put their 2 cents in on everything, from bhb to nw to parenting.

Re: New BTB Vs. Newlyweds.....
I'm sorry , but I simply do NOT understand how anyone who has been on these boards for any period of time can find it 'scary' to go from one forum to another to post .. it is a CHAT BOARD, what is the big deal???
But yes, I do understand how you get close with your friends via GTGs and such..and of course BTBs have similar issues they are going through and are inevitably going to bond with those who are getting married in the same year they are.. but to call a particular board 'scary' (or the people who are on it) is just incomprehensible to me
And please also note - there are plenty of non-newlyweds that post on NWR... men, singles,BTBs, newlyweds, Moms, etc.. noone considered this a place for NEWLYWEDS ONLY.. Those of us who became friendly here did not do based on their 'status' .. it is mostly based on our common interests and such, not classifications on WHO we are , BTB, NWs or otherwise

So what? Then dont be their best friends... maybe someone on NW board was mean and now they are scared. If I went to the South Bronx and got scared and came back and said I am scared to go back, I am staying on LI... that doesnt make sense?

But I don't think that is a problem. I don't mind answering the same thing over and over again when I go on BHB. I don't think that is an issue. There are plenty of us who still goto BHB we can answer the questions there too.
