Hey girls, here is some info I got recently. If you want to do lighting or use the tvs, you have to strictly go with Body Rock for that. Even if you use another DJ company, you still need to hire Body Rock if you want the lighting/uplighting or use of the tvs. I guess they own the equipment and won't allow other companies to use it.

I am looking at the Fox Hollow this weekend but I want a band, not a DJ... am I able to have a band there? So I can't use the TV's for like a photo montage or something if I don't use Body Rock?

Re: New fox hollow thread

I am thinking we're going to have approx 250 people... which room there hold that many? Is it Somerley? I was only @ FH for a small wedding and i don't remember which room it was in.

The Somerley is the only one - I think it goes up to 260 in there. But based on previous posts, I think they have a contract so that only Body Rock can use the tvs - otherwise they're just there, off.

totally agree. i hate when things try and force other vendors on you. we're in the winter garden pavilion so we didn't have this to deal with, but it is unfair imo.

I think with that many guests you would probably be better off in the Garden Terrace. You can have a band there and there's no built in TVs so your band might be able to bring in the tvs for you and it will all be from one place

oops forgot about the terrace room! I agree - better to have 250 comfortably than squeeze everyone in.

Re: New fox hollow thread

I dont think the Somereley can hold that many people. I know the min is 150. My parents recently had lunch there (food was delicious they said) and they had 14 tables of 10 set up. She said there was room for some more tables but too many would take over the whole dance floor.

When we booked he only showed us that room as our guest list is 'only' 200 lol

Re: New fox hollow thread

Yes I would not book that room for that many people. As for the tv's it is not a big deal bc they are hidden away by frames. You can have whoever you book bring their own equipment. I saw a band at a wedding show that was AMAZING!!! They are recommended I think through PWP the company FH uses for referrals. I want to say Franklin... something. If I was going for a band I would have book them on the spot.
On a side note, is anyone getting married in the somerley bc I am having issues now that they start the ceremony so late, 7pm.....

a few weeks ago i found the floor plan for the somerley on here somewhere in case you need help 'seeing' how they'd lay out the room - it was for 260, so i think you'll be fine

Re: New fox hollow thread

Hi ladies!

I'm having my wedding in the winter garden room. FH and I are going back and forth with the idea of having a photobooth. Do they allow the FB in the room? If so do you know where they put it?

thanks!

Re: New fox hollow thread

we're in the same boat! last time I asked, we were told that it would be put outside the room, not in the actual WGP, so it kinda lost its charm - maybe someone else has heard something different?

Re: New fox hollow thread

I really don't want to have to put a photobooth outside... i think that is ridiculous! How will my guests know it's there? I just don't see it being put to the best use if it is not in the room... Is that just me?

Re: New fox hollow thread

Hey Ladies!!!

This is for all my Somereley girls or those who are looking to book.

I booked back when it was first built last year, so I had a lot of questions that I didn't ask when I first booked and Brett, one of the Maitre D's was SO helpful and answered them all. Here is what I found out.

-1 color of uplighting is included with the room. Thats the lights are around the walls. If you want the ceiling lighting and the TVs you have to go through Body Rock.

-They just re-did the entrance (used to be old photo studio, but can still be used for that when there is inclement weather) The room is open and spacious and beautiful and your guests can hang out there if they arrive early.

-The NEW cocktail room for The Somerley will be completed in August 2012. They said its design will be open, spacious and you won't feel like you are in a basement. It will be the same size as the Somerley.

-Bathrooms are off the Latern Gallery. They have bathroom attendants who bring their own baskets, so its not necessary to bring your own. But they did recommend baskets for the bridal suite filled with things that you know your BP will need.

-The lattern gallery, which is now the cocktail room, will become a lounge space and the space for viennese hour once the new space is done. They said with the overflow into the ballroom they can accommodate up to 250 people.

-If you have smokers and are having a cigar roller, they will set up the outside patio with highboy tables so the smokers won't feel isolated.

-You can use round tables or oval tables for the reception. Rounds fit 10-12, ovals 12+.

I was there for about 45 minutes and got so much info...and fell in love with that room again!

Hope this is extremely helpful to you girls!

Re: New fox hollow thread

I had my wedding in the Somerely and there max was 216 and that would be a crowded room. I don't know if they changed things.

I agree! 250 threw me off, I even think 216 is pushing it. Hoping for a cozy 150 for my wedding

i was also thinking about a photobooth as well...how many people are you inviting to your wedding? I also worry about the room not being big enough to comfortably fit a photobooth and sometimes the booths have long lines. so i gave that idea up, especially if you guys say that they are gonna be outside the room!!! i rather my guest be on the dance floor than standing on a line! my photographer is going to be walking around from table to table taking pictures, maybe i can get him to bring some props and people can take silly pics at the table and then ill just make a shutterfly website so they can get their pics. i dunno... :(
