So I've called LIPA to pick up service.. what other utilities can I 'pick-up'?

Water Company is NY Water Services Co. - at least for me in Bellmore.
Verizon didn't charge me for hook up for some reason...they said since I called before they closed out the old number - so no turn on fee. I didn't keep the existing #.
Cablevision has a two week wait usually - not sure when you move in - but you can get started on them too.
Also, alarm company - if they have an existing alarm system with hook up to central office - you can call and see what you need to do to turn that over.
Jen/Marcella - when do you guys move in? Soon, right? so exciting!

Do you have to call the water company? I thought that was just always on and the town/city sends bills to the owner
