should we stay at the hotel where we have a room block- the suite there is nothing special
but it's like 2 minutes away from our RH I doubt we will have many OOT guests and there won't be a bar or anything to hang out in later, which is OK bc we are doing the extra hour for our wedding
ORRR
should we go all out and a get nice room somewhere else, like maybe NYC, with a spa and some pampering?
wedding is fri night...leaving Sunday morning for our HM so we would stay in hotel friday and sat night
FBIL suggested we stay at the W in NYC, get massages and have a nice dinner in NYC sat night

Since you will be staying there 2 nights I think you should definitely pamper yourselves and go for the better hotel! The W is sooo nice and so is the Marriott in Times Square!

Re: night of the wedding question
I'm staying in the same hotel as my guests. However, that is because we are hosting a brunch the next morning for all the guests that stay over. Plus my hotel has a bar and we want to continue to party that night.
Do whatever is best for you guys!!

Re: night of the wedding question
I like the 2nd option just because you aren't going to have many OOT guests.....
We are also getting married on Friday and leave for HM on Sunday - but we have a few OOT guests including my family that we will wanna see before we leave too.

If you can afford it, I think it's definitely worth it to do this.

Re: night of the wedding question
Definitely second option. Since you don't have too many OOT guests, and there is no bar, I would totally pamper myself.
Are you hosting a brunch?

Re: night of the wedding question
I think you should stay at the close hotel. You're prob gonna be so exhausted, why stay at a different hotel and spend more money??

Re: night of the wedding question
Stay somewhere nice! But I wouldn't go too far. We are staying at the hotel we blocked, even though it's just a regular room (they have no suites!), but we have a lot of OOT guests and we want to spend time with our family one more day.

Re: night of the wedding question
I like the idea of staying with the guests in the hotel but if you do chose to go to Manhattan, I'd recommend staying in a suite at the Marriott Marquis instead of the W. The W is very small and IMO not as nice. My FH and I were very very disappointed with the W the last time we stayed there. Very small suites.

Re: night of the wedding question
I would just relax at the hotel that night. I think it is more of a hassle to drive to the city the night of. All you're going to want to do is crash right after the wedding.

Re: night of the wedding question
Although I love the idea of the hotel in the city you are going to be exhausted after your wedding!! You are going to want to sit back and relax and be close to home so you can cash all the $$$ before your honeymoon!! Just my opinion!!
