i just wanted to know what peoples thoughts were on not having any bridesmaids or bridal party.
Has anyone went to weddings with out a bridal party? Would that look weird?
You thoughts/experiences would be great.

I do not think it is weird at all, and you will have way less stress.
I have been in one wedding and it was my sisters. Her friends were so catty and cheap (even though my sister was in there wedding and did so much for them). She had a hard time getting people together for the rehersal dinner.
I am having 4 brides maids my 2 sisters and 2 friends. so far so good but only time will tell.
I think you made a great decision!

I don't think it would look wierd at all.
FH and I are just having a MOH and BM. We are having a small wedding (50 guests) and we didn't want our BP to be as big as the wedding

Agree with everyone who has posted....been to weddings w/o them and it is fine...you just need to pick witnesses then. Do what YOU want!

i am only having a MOH & flower girl
i have been in my share of bridal parties & unfortunately nothing but drama.
it would not only save you money but frustration. having to coordinate times when everyone free, having to ALL agree on the same dress.. etc..
its your day... i have seen it done before.. wouldn't look weird at all

oh that sounds like an amazing idea!! However my family would absolutly kill me!! I am having either 8 or 10...eek I know I am crazy but I cant leave anyone out!!

i didn't want a bridal party at all. I have 3 sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews. I've been in my sisters weddings and I've never wanted bridesmaids. But then I decided to have my sister as my MOH, and i'm probably just going to have the kids walk up the aisle also, but they are all little. They can all where whatever they want - even my sister. I told her she could just buy a dress from bloomie's if she wanted to, just can't be black. I never liked the whole matching bridesmaid thing.
AND my fiance is planning on having his 4 best friends so we will be totally mismatched, and i could care less. Do what you want, nothing looks weird these days. Think of all the money and aggravation you'll save! Plus even more focus will be on you.

if thats what your vision is for your day then go for it! you will need 2 witnesses though for your certificate, usually its the moh and bm. all eyes will be on the 2 of you, thats for sure!

i've gone to a few where there were just a Best Man and Maid of Honor....i thought it was really nice & it made the ceremony very intimate & personal

I am not having bridesmaids because I have too many girls fighting for it! So FH and I decided to have flowergirls and junior bridesmaids only. Plus I am short... so it turns out that I'd be the tallest person in the entourage!
Actually, they are all growing fast so that will probably not be true by next year!

Thanks ladies!!! I am trying to avoid as much stress as possible. I not sure as yet what Im going to do. But at least I'll feal more comfortable with my decisions either way...thanks to all you ladies.

I think it is fine not to have a bridal party. Sometimes they cause more stress than is necessary

Im going to a wedding in August with no BM's. Ill let you know how it is after that!
Honestly, I think it will be fine. People are just looking at the bride and groom anyway!

My bro and sister in law didn't have any. They simply had one of her sisters up with her and me with my brother - so immediate family only... I had contemplated that for myself a LOT - as it would save on insulting people...but chose not to go that way.
I think there's something to be said for it though. Do what YOU want - it's YOUR DAY. :)
