No Carpet!

Vanderbilt Mansion (probably both)

The Winter Garden Pavilion at Fox Hollow has tile, and a wood dance floor. NO AWFUL CARPET!!!

I wanted
-no carpet
-no flowers
-no marble/glitz/etc

Jenny I never realized there were so many people that noticed the carpet like do you!!!!

(Jen is my FSIL and once I started my hall search her one request was that when I look at halls just to not choose something that has ugly carpet)

I hate the carpet!!!!
I also ruled out any place with floral drapes, walls, etc.

I at first thought she was weird for not liking the carpet...but now it's looking much more normal!!!!

i think from pictures north ritz club looks to be hard wood floors i THINK...

north ritz definitely has carpet ... they have a very large dance floor that you see in most pics of weddings, but around the dance floor is carpet.

This thread is so funny to me.

When I first started looking at venues, I kept telling my MIL that I didn't want a place with that hotel-type carpeting and she kept making fun of me and telling me how picky I was. She made me feel like I was the only bride on L.I. who had issues with carpeting. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one!

Well, anyway, we booked at the Royalton (beautiful hardwood floors) which I highly recommend.

Ha! i felt the same exact way. What is it about catering halls that they think it is ok to have paisley carpet everywhere. Yuck!!
I booked the Bourne Mansion. It has only hardwood floors.......

Atlantica. Hard wood floors. Very simply decorated.
