My fiance asked me to ask you about the service (waitstaff/bar). How were they?

What meals did you select? How were they? I have my planning meeting next month.

Re: North Ritz Brides

I'm sorry I didn't post any sooner, but here I am to tell all about the NRC.
As for a few words for the NRC...
The outside looked great, even though you can still see Jericho Trnpk. The place was clean, the food tasted great, it was comfortable for an August wedding (AC) but it was hot outside on Aug 4th!! Everyone was helpful who worked there and they were aiming to please the whole night. I do have one thing to say...go to your cocktail hour...I didn't, and I wish I did. I missed my beautiful ice swan, all the great food and talking to my friends and family before the reception. Now I hope that someone I know has a wedding at NRC so I can enjoy myself too.

Re: North Ritz Brides

Thanks!! The bar/waitress service was excellent. Everyone kept telling me that their drinks were strong. For dinner we ordered the Fillet Mignon, the Breast of Chicken Verdi and Some type of fish stuffed with crab meat. Some people said the Chicken was a little dry. I had the meat and it tasted great. It came with delicious potatos and veggies all wrapped up. I also chose a stacked chocolate cake with strawberry filling. I didn't get fresh flowers on the cake and I'm glad I didn't because NRC put petals around the cake and some other flowers on it. Everyone said it tasted great. The top part of the cake is sitting in my freezer.

I am so excited to hear everyone raving about the NRC!!! I am getting married there 2/22/03 and love the place!!
I know when I was there a few weeks ago the elevator wasn't working which concerned me since I have some elderly guest and a blind friend who would need it to get downstairs, do you know if it was working????
Thanks for the good news!! Your Pics are great!

Re: North Ritz Brides

I know Christina is getting married there (Gus's neice) I really want to go up there the day of her wedding (before it of course) just to see what it looks like. I am sure everything will be set up perfectly!!

On the new website, the first picture is of the outside, and there is a bridge across the lake. I wonder when they will start all of that!

Re: North Ritz Brides

I'm so happy to here from other NRC brides. I'm getting married there Oct. 12 '03. I booked there in may '01 when they were still redoing it and i was so scared and then I kept seeing brides for every other place but NRC on this board. Thanks augo4o2 for posting how well your wedding went and you look absolutely gorgeuos! Did they put anything on the cocktail tables or the table when you first walk in-candles,flowers? or did you provide that? also how much was the house dj? sorry about all the questions.

(i never realized what a dork i've become since i'm a 'bride'!)

Re: North Ritz Brides

There is no need to put flowers on the big table when you first walk in, there is a huge centerpiece there and vines with tule wrapped around the banister going all the way up the stairs. I wasn't around during the cocktail hour but there was an ice sculpture of a swan and the food is done up so nice, I don't even think there was room for flowers. Besides, you're only in that room for an hour. Save money and spend it on nice centerpieces for your reception room. Mine had 3 tall candles in it. On my table with my husband, they put my flowers and the girls flowers plus really cool candles with fancy holders. The house DJ (Joe Bova) was around 900 dollars and he was excellent! Good luck!!

Re: North Ritz Brides

I went by this weekend on a Sunday morning. My brother got married at Crest Hollow so we stayed over night and took my mom the next day for a visit (she hasn't been there since we booked in June of last year).

Again, I was a little disappointed because the place was still dirty from the night before (dance floor was very sticky, beer bottles in the garden, crumbs everywhere). I have my planning meeting next month so I will ask about that.

Each table in the cocktail hour room had a small goldfish bowl with a single pretty flower in it. They told me when I booked them, they supply this.

When you walk in, they have the huge artificial centerpiece. I thought it looked fine, but my mom thought it needed to be cleaned and the lady that worked there said it could use some fluffing (some of the flowers were squished from people touching it).

Now, do you put you placecards around the huge centerpiece when you first walk in? I was thinking that is where I would put them.

I still love the place even though my last few visits were met with disappointment. I love the idea of having the huge place all to myself.

Re: North Ritz Brides

When I went to visit the place, they were setting up for a wedding. The placecards were on the table when you first walk in.
