We are getting married at the Thatched Cottage and are thinking about getting pictures taken at one of the beaches in Northport as well as some taken in the Village.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea, or give some suggestions for locations around the Thatched Cottage.
FYI... the date is Saturday, 7/2 so beaches, etc. may be crowded.
What about in the winter? Is this still a good place to go? Do you think we will freeze? My church is in this area!
By the way, WOW those pics are absolutely beautiful!

I'm getting married at Thatched too but we're taking pics at Vanderbilt Museum because we want to be covered just in case of rain. They do in door and outdoor pics
I was married at TC last summer and also took pictures in between our church and reception at the Vanderbilt - it was worth every penny and I LOVED the atmosphere there
As littlebookworm posted, one of the big reasons I went for the Vanderbilt for my pics was that the inside of the mansion is GORGEOUS and in the even of bad weather/rain we would have been able to take pics in side as well (luckily we had gorgeous weather, however )
You can check out some pics at both T. Cottage and the Vanderbuilt by clicking on this link to my proofs:
I second the Vanderbilt. It’s beautiful there. All that history and architecture. The indoor option is great too.
There's the Centerport Yacht Club a few blocks before the Vanderbilt. But I would call to see if they would let you. They have access to the beach and small a dock.
Otherwise Huntington: Hetcher Park and Coindre Hall are nice.
I grew up in Northport, and am getting married at St. Philip's on Main St. in town. I plan on taking pictures by the harbor after my ceromony and before moving onto my reception at Bourne Mansion for more pictures.
The harbor really is beautiful. I think you'd get great pictures there.

Heather, I was married at St. Paul's a year before and a day after you are going to get marred at St. Phillips!!
It was a good time of year to do harbor picks - not sweltering hot, but not too cold. See my picks above, because it will probably look the same with the leaves and colors, etc.
