Not good news

Hey girls.....so our wedding is 24 hrs away and this week has been miserable. We got a call on Wednesday afternoon that FH's dad had a heart attack. It was a 'Widow Maker' heart attack and they were surprised he survived. He is doing ok now, and has been released from ICU. This all happened in MD while FH and I are in NY getting ready for our day. This has changed everything. FFIL won't be at the wedding

FH is heartbroken and this has changed the dynamic of everything for us. Forget about the fact that we have been rocky the past few weeks due to stress and what not.

We have in the past 2 days...had 8, yes 8 cancellations. Due to illnesses and lay offs. We are both so upset right now. We can't seem to get back to the place where we used to be. Our rehearsal is in less than two hours and we are both a mess.


Please pray that tomorrow is an amazing day in spite of all that is working against us.

It is so sad that FFIL cannot be there, but still remember that he will be celebrating with you wherever he is... can you have a bridesmaid or someone else close to the ceremony hold up a cell phone with him on the other end? Our rabbi suggested this for my grandma because she cannot travel for the wedding. He also suggested (too high tech for her though) that we put a MAC computer nearby and she have one too and we could both use video-conferencing so she could see everything.

I know it stinks about cancellations (at least the ones not related to illness, nothing you can do there) -- but the people who really care will be there and you will still have a great day! You will be so happy and excited you won't even notice those people are missing.

just remember dont matter how many people come..all u need is u and fh..u r going to be a beautiful bride and marry theman u love..dont let a number wipe the smile off ur face..u should be glowing now..u r getting married!!! i can only imagine the stress a few days b4 so thats why things have prob been rocky between u too..but dont worry when all is said n done u will look back on ur beautiful day and realize what a great time u guys had and all the great stuff thats still to come..try to feel better

Just set a little time aside for you and FH...talk to each other or maybe write him a note. Sometimes all you need is to love each other to comfort each other.

Awww... I am so sorry to hear about FFIL....the same thing happened to my father over a year ago; they caught it in time as well. He will be fine (unfortunately not in time for the wedding) as long as he takes care of himself in the future. My dad is doing wonderfully.

You and FH have to remember the love you have for one another; and hopefully that will overcome all the obstacles you are facing.

Although FFIL won't be there physically, he will be there in spirit....

Do you have any friends who can videotape it and send it to FFIL quickly so he can see it? Just an idea.
