Not good news

Hey girls.....so our wedding is 24 hrs away and this week has been miserable. We got a call on Wednesday afternoon that FH's dad had a heart attack. It was a 'Widow Maker' heart attack and they were surprised he survived. He is doing ok now, and has been released from ICU. This all happened in MD while FH and I are in NY getting ready for our day. This has changed everything. FFIL won't be at the wedding

FH is heartbroken and this has changed the dynamic of everything for us. Forget about the fact that we have been rocky the past few weeks due to stress and what not.

We have in the past 2 days...had 8, yes 8 cancellations. Due to illnesses and lay offs. We are both so upset right now. We can't seem to get back to the place where we used to be. Our rehearsal is in less than two hours and we are both a mess.

Please pray that tomorrow is an amazing day in spite of all that is working against us.

Honey -- I know that things seem terribly tough right now, but you only get to do tomorrow with your FH ONE time. Please, please, PLEASE do your best to make the absolute best of your day. The wonderful news is that FFIL is ok and he's going to be ok. I know it is awful that he won't be there, but on the other hand, you could have been attending a funeral tomorrow.

Go to tonights rehearsal dinner and sit next to your FH, hold his hand, smile at him and start taking in the fact that tomorrow, you two will be married. Don't let an ounce of the next 24 hours get you down.

I feel so horrible the circumstances you are in. Just remember, all the things that happened are out of your control and remember that tomorrow you are marrying the man of your dreams and it WILL be beautiful! I am praying for a speedy recovery for your FFIL.

You have your first test of marriage, make sure go through during this difficult time..together and remember why you are getting married!

Oh Sweetie I am so sorry to hear about FFIL. I hope he makes a speedy recovery. Everything else aside tomorrow you will be marrying the love of you life regardless of the unfortunate circumstances of this week. You have put a lot of time and effort into planning your special day. Take a few moments alone with FH and try to focus on the reasons why you wanted to get married in the first place.

Im so sorry, i hope FFIL makes a quick recovery...

I will say this and try to present a different perspective. Try to take all of these negative things and not wallow in them but rather use them. Use them to make you realize how LUCKY you are to have each other. Yes 8 people cancelled but MANY more will be with you. ANd after all its about you two. not everyone else!

Hang in there!!! Tomorrow will be just as you always imagined it would. The morning will prob be stresssful, but once you walk down the aisle everything will seem right again! Hope FFIL has a speedy recovery.

I am so sorry about your situation. Just remember that the day is about you and your FH and it's to celebrate your love for each other and your new life together. I know it is upsetting that your FFIL can't make it but just be glad that he is okay and we be there to see you spend your life together as a married couple. You are going to have an amazing day!!!! Just remember to enjoy every minute of it because you cannot relive it.

Oh NOOOOO J!!!! I am SOO sorry for all that you've been going through. That is just so tragic. Thank God he survived, and I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. I'm so sorry for FH his dad won't be there, but I have to say, it could have been much much worse. Thank God he's okay. And the cancellations completely $uck. That's horrible.

I just want you to know, regarding you and FH going through a rough patch, FH and I seem to be in constant cage match mode. The stress of the wedding is a real factor, and now, with this new added event, it may feel like the stress is worse. I hope you can both remember that this day is about you, and all the rest will melt away.

I truly hope you have a wonderful day, way beyond your expectations. We love you!!!
