Not very advertised vendors...

Not very advertised vendors...

I'm sure some of us have used a few vendors that are not very well known or highly advertised but are just as good, and sometimes even better as the highly advertised vendors we get in the mail EVERY day or see at all the bridal expos.

So please list any vendors like such here and maybe follow it with an experience or explain a little bit about them about what makes them so great. I know I could go into the review section, but this is different then just a review. I think this could help many of us.

List any types of vendors...DJ's, Florists, photographers, videographers, DOC's, caligraphers, jewelry designers, Hair Stylists, Makeup Artists, Limos, etc. TIA

i used 'all my heart' in port jefferson for my invites and calligraphy. i LOVED them. their prices and selection seemed to be comparable to anywhere else, and i just found the customer service to be outstanding. they were sweet, HELPFUL & PATIENT. which is what any bride needs

Then 'Til Now is my DJ! LOVE STEVE!!!

and now probably going to book Syosset Limousines... best quote I got so far for Guest Transportation for a 29 passenger shuttle bus! Just making sure I have 29 people to transport at my hotel before I officially book them! (and Danny is SOOOO nice and REASONABLE there!)

Right Angle Studios: photographer. Started to get known here with 07 brides. Only 2 reviews when I booked them. Ended up a great experience. Very professional and talented.

Verbena Designs: Flowers. Also a few reviews but results were beyond my expectations for what I paid. Not a store front store. By appt only. Jennifer the owner is great to work with. Understands quickly and EXACTLY what her customers want. No need to go over it several times.

Bridal World in Balding: wedding gown. Below $450 for my dress. (Though would not recommend for alterations).

George Washington Manor: A smaller hall but wonderful for smaller wedding (# of guests). Separate chapel on premises. Great experience with them. Very nice staff. Very reasonable in price.

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

I only used one LIW vendor who turned out to be a HUGE disappointment as well as one of the most unprofessional people I've ever come across.

All vendors I used are in my review.

ETA: This particular LIW vendor is NO Longer a vendor here.

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

Most of my vendors aren't LIW vendors...

I am using Espo Entertainment for DJ-great guys really get party started, have seen in action many times.

Towers Flowers in West Islip for florist- Found to be more reasonable then LIW vendors

Gude Photography-award winning photographer studio located in Bellport

Courtyard Marriot hotel in Ronkonkoma

I will have full details in my review

The ONLY LIW Vendors I used were Vinny from High Voltage Sounds and National Floral Wholesale.

the rest were recm'd from other brides and do not advertise on LIW:

Photo - Marianela Vera
Hair & MU - Mia from Bridal Lounge
Limos - Romantique

Flowers by Voegler, Ed is a sweetheart and the work was a master piece. He really works with you.
Used Marie Stack for ceremonial music who was amazing.
Duetwedding.com photo/video team was amazing we had Edwardo/Nick 200% satisfaction.
Royalty limos very professional.

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

Lovin Oven Floral Designs - Keyth is fabulous, but I've only seen a handful of people use him.

Photography - Imagine Studios are pretty well known (who we picked), but I also think Angelica Glass and Natasha Staszack are amazing.

Alert Bus Company - Cheapest place to get shuttle transportation for OOT guests. They get rave reviews everytime. It's much cheaper than going through your limo company usually.

Smashingcards.com - rave rave rave about this vendor, Ashley did both my invitations and my programs.

The Chocolate Duck - located in Farmingdale, Chrissy makes the most amazing wedding cakes, grooms cakes, chocolate favors, etc.

Carole's Corner - located in Northport, I got all my BM jewelry, my day of jewelry, our rings, my e-ring, and FH's gift here. Carole is a sweetheart and has such a lovely selection. Mom got hers here for the day of also!

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

So far, all of my vendors are LIwedding vendors but that's just coincidental. I didn't book any of them based on recommendations here. I'm using Imagine Studios and she is pretty highly recommended here. I also booked Wild Rose Video who is also recommended here.

VJ Entertainment is my DJ and while he is a LIWedding vendor, he is definitely not recommended enough. He is awesome and I know my wedding will be great b/c of him.

For flowers, I'm totally back and forth b/w Verbena Designs and Flower Michele. Decisions decisions!

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

I'm using Serenity Limos. They are a vendor here (although I found them as one of the vendors for my hall). It seems that Sir Oliver and Royalty are talked about the most. However, I needed a non-wedding package for limos and I was able to put together exactly what I needed for my day, not what someone was 'offering' and then having to add to it. AND Eddie the owner is a total sweetheart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm using Verbena Designs for flowers. After meeting with all the more well-known florists I chose Jennifer. I could not be more happy with my decision.

There were many hidden gems among my vendors. One of them was Laurie Studios http://www.lauriestudio.com/. Another one is Bella Flowers aka Bella North Shore. There is also a DJ that I know personally, if anyone needs someone.

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

Like some other girls I am also using Steve of then till now for the DJ. He is out of Lindenhurst and is great to work with.

My photographer is Artie of Art-isitc Images. He is great!! We got some great engagement shots......and we both hate ourselves in pics. But we actually liked a bunch. He also has the best prices I have seen for the 'coffee table' books

Re: Not very advertised vendors...

awesome thread idea!

ok so for my DJ I chose Classie Sounds - not as popular on here since they are in Brooklyn but they have been SO NICE to work with . . .we booked with Keith but Billy is really nice too - i actually had a good time the two times I have met with them, a very fun and energetic company - and I have only heard great things about them so far!

for my florist - Designs by Rose- another vendor that i had a great time working with - definitely trying hard to work within my budget and really really nice and easy to get along with

for photo/video - i chose Patken, they are popular on here but just had to mention that i love them too! LOL
