I missed everything and just skimmed through the posts that everyone had.
Someone told me copying is the biggest compliment. (something like that. I dont remember the actual one) I take everyone's ideas as my outline.
I do hope everyone continues to post all there creative ideas.

Re: Nothing
Speaking for myself, I dont think anyone was calling into question Stefanie's creativity. Quite the opposite, as I think she is very creative and has a lot of good ideas. I DO think that the program Curly originally posted was in a style that I have seen many times, and is most likely a hybrid of many different examples. I am not sure that a vendor can 'steal' ideas that you can see most places that make programs, anywhere on the internet.
I dont think this needed to escalate to this point either, but surely you have to see the irony of posting to tell all of us NOT to post. This thread just gets moved up when you do that. If you really want to let it die, then dont reply. It will fade like the rest of the Friday drama. Happy planning to all

Re: Nothing
Just felt the need to come to the defense of someone who has been a huge help to all of us. I think she deserved it.

Re: Nothing
I don't think any of these post are attacking Stef for I surely am not. I just feel to bash someone and say I created something when you clearly didn't is a bit out of the ordinary. I don't mean any harm but everything that I have seen Stef add in is something she actually got from somewhere else. And is it me or is this the second time Stef has attacked someone for using her idea when she clearly knew she had gotten the idea from Martha Stewart.

Re: Nothing
AS LONG AS SOMETHING IS 10% DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL, YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT. If people on this board want to claim things were their ideas and they should get credit/money/whatever, GET OFF THE BOARD and don't post things. This board is about sharing/copying/complementing brides to be. I really hate all the drama and BS

Re: Nothing
If anyone worries about their ideas being stolen or not getting credit for it, they need not be posting it anywhere on the world wide web, where ANYBODY can get a hold of it, twist it up & call it their own.

Re: Picture of my programs
not to beat a dead horse as I'm sure everyone has been saddened enough by all of this, and I know how helpful sonic has been to everyone on these boards by sharing her creativity...but I have to say, I wish you (sonic) would have simply called laura or emailed her personally and told her how you felt, instead of putting curly in the middle and upsetting her - it is heartbreaking to think of how happy and excited she was about her beautiful programs, and now how sad she is and guilty she feels. No one should have to feel like that before their wedding!

Re: Picture of my programs
I have tried to stay out of this as much as possible but I feel I need to say a few things here:
a) I never asked for money OR credit. I never threatened to sue. I never said a word against Curly. I never told her that she should not use the programs. All I want is a little common courtesy. That would have included an email from LA Productions asking for my permission or in the event that the thought of asking for permission did not occur to her, a SINCERE apology that neglecting to ask upset me for legitimate reason. That is ALL!!
b) I believe (and Im sure a bunch of people will post that they disagree with me for a myriad of reasons but I still believe it) that I have shown not only courtesy but kindness to everyone on this board throughout the years that I have been here. Not only have I shared the stuff I did for myself but I have also made designs for others that had nothing to do with my own wedding.
c) Reading many of these responses has made me very regretful for sharing. It seems evident that many people feel it is one's god given right to utilize my ideas in any way they see fit because I decide to share them. Realizing that is the sentiment here, then I have been duly warned and will no longer share anything that I would be upset about giving away to vendors.
d) Lastly, I am personally offended by the comments that I should have just kept quiet about it or that my feelings are 'stupid'. Curly is not the only person upset by this - I am as well as I explicity stated in my first post. Just because Im no longer a bride to be, doesn't mean I dont have feeling of my own that are just as warranted.

Re: Picture of my programs
What a great disservice to the future brides that Steph now feels that she can not share her creative products! I for one love seeing stephs ideas. I see both sides so I am in no way trying to side with anyone. I just hate to see what this board has come to.

Re: Picture of my programs
Sonic . . .
I'm sorry that you now regret sharing your ideas. I really don't think that you should feel that way. I'm sorta hurt that you would share your idea and when someone hires someone else to do what they were unable to do themselves, all this drama unfolds. I have seen literally hundreds of brides to be compliment your programs, and you have willingly shared your template with all of them. (including myself) I think that it was sort of nieve on your part to assume that anyone who asked for the template would automatically try create it themselves.
Here's my question to you. If Laura would have 'called & asked for your permission' to replicate your programs, would you have been just as offended?? Would you have given her permission? Remember, your original complaint was that a vendor is making profit from your idea. So, I really don't understand how obtaining your permission would make a huge difference.
Being in show business, where 'idea stealing' occurs on a daily basis . . .if anyone wants to prevent 'idea stealing', they should copyright their idea. Do you realize that vendors in Germany could be stealing your 'idea' right now as we speak?
I personally feel bad for Curly who couldn't wait to thank & acknowledge you for sharing your ideas. She couldn't replicate the programs herself, so she simply hired someone to do it for her.
Stick a fork in me. I'm done.

You know...looking back at this thread...it seems that the people who blew it out of proportion were people who were not involved and putting words in the mouths of the people involved...
before we freak out...look back specifically at what ONLY the parties involved said
edited to delete a picture that seems not to be working

Re: Picture of my programs
It is incredilous to me that everyone seems to think that I should have spend additional time to file copyrights in order to get a little common courtesy. Isnt it enough that I spent time to make sure my program template was accesible to brides in the first plae? I guess not.
And in fact IF Laura had asked I would have given her permission because I have done it before with other situations. But I still expect to be asked. How dare anyone dictate to me what I should and should not feel purely because its convienent for you?
And just because theft happens everyday does not make it right!
As I said before - I will no longer share anything of this nature. I guess it was NAIVE of me to expect that brides on this board would respect my feelings. It will not happen again.

Re: Picture of my programs
Stef, I just read all these posts and you definitely ARE overreacting. Imitation is the finest form of flattery, no? She did not steal your idea, and I don't believe LA 'made a profit' off your design. Curly made it clear the inside was entirely different. And, a specific layout doesn't constitute 'copying'; after all, her pics are totally different from yours. I'm sure you have happier and more important things to focus on. Don't get yourself upset needlessly.

Re: Picture of my programs
Let it die! Steph has the right to feel however she wants to feel. I feel bad for her that everyone seems to be picking on her because she feels hurt. Has anyone ever told you not to feel what you are feeling? It is the most annoying thing in the world. Why pick one side over another on this subject, is that going to personally get you anywhere in life? NO, I don't think so. Let steph feel as she would like, let curly do what she would like and move on in life. Personally, I am ****ed off that this has gone so far. This board is becoming more and more like my freshman year of high school...I tell you...I thought people getting married would be a little more mature and sophisticated to be picking sides over 'internet' friends.
