I did. Just in case someone forgot to put their name on it.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
yep - because I don't need the confusion in the event that someone forgets to write their name on the card. I've made the process idiot-proof....which is important given our friends and families!
I bought a fine-point pen in the same color as my invitations, and wrote it on the inside flap of the response card. Very few people will even know it's there.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
I numbered them because I have heard that some brides got repsonse cards back and the guest forgot to put their name on it...Luckily, that didn't happen to us!

That's something that I never even thought to do. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
In case someone forgot to put their name on it, in case I can't read their handwriting, and to confirm who they are from FH's side....
it's VERY helpful, I'd reccommend it.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
I used the blank cards- no check off box etc
so it was a little insurance policey to make me feel better
and the list was numbered- so it was easy to find people to mark them off

Re: Numbering your response cards?
I just got an invitation on Sat and I noticed a little number on the back corner of the response card and I was wondering what that was for...so thanks for explaining it's purpose. It's a good idea!

Re: Numbering your response cards?
where do you put the numbers? I've never heard of this before. Can someone please give me a little detail on this. I'm interested in doing it.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
I did it for the same reasons that other brides have posted. I decided to get very Mr. Wizard with the whole thing and I used invisible ink that you could only see with a black light (it came with the invisible pen) I know that some people have looked to see what 'number' they are and they take it as an indication of how far down the list they are, so I wanted to be safe

I also thought people would look at the number and see where they were on the list. Where did you find this black light and pen? It's a great idea!

I did this for the same reasons. People sometimes forget to put their names and to be honest i couldn't even read some guests handwriting so the numbers helped me to figure out who it was.

Re: Numbering your response cards?
I numbered. My guest list was in alpha order by last name, and the #'s corresponded with the number on the guest list. We had a few cards come back with just the 'will attend' checked off and no name.

I actually got it from Steve Spangler Sciece - it was an invisible pen and a little blacklight keychain. I think it cost $7 total.

I meant to but forgot and it was fine--I do think it's a good idea though.
