what im saying is sometimes, i dunno whether people are jealous or not but they make me feel like im not welcome...(and my real friends who are on here feel it too sometimes)

and matilde, i do care how my real friends feel too (obviously) but when you want advice from other people and you dont get as many answers as you would hope (sometimes no answers)...but people post things that can be irrelevant and they get ridiculous amount of answers back...it seems like its a popularity contest instead of a board for advice.

im glad that you guys are seeing my point.

Who is making you feel like you are not welcomed?? I'll beat them up for you, heheh just kidding. Noooooo dont feel that way.

I see what your are saying that some posts get more activity than others depending on who posts them. There are some topics sometimes that are soo very off wedding topic, like ' come take a look my donkey took a dump, with pics' ahahaah Im sorry but non-wedding topics can have like 1000 posts and when there is a wedding topic no one gives a crap. I posted that I booked my florist and I got like 6 responses and it was viewed like 60 times. I really dont give a crap that I didnt get additional posts I really dont care but I def see what you are saying. Keep on doing, forget the people you are talking about. I try to help and comment on everyone bec we all have a wedding to plan, thats what we are here for.

i didnt see your post, who did you end up booking with?

I can understand where you are coming from. I hope you dont feel unwelcomed here. Try not to let it bother you and dont get involved with the petty crap so you dony get upset. You are right we are all here to plan our weddings and try to just focus on that.

do you ever get the feeling when you are typing on the boards that people are playing to their favorites by who comments your questions, albums, etc.? Do you ever feel that brides are jealous of you or what you have and in turn make you feel that you are not welcome here?

i dont know. i was talking with my girls last nite (some of who are on this website) and i often feel that there is this bit of jealousy that some brides feel towards other brides.

i know i am happy with what i have and what i am doing, as they are.

but we felt that some people(and I shall never name names) on here are trying to 'prove' something to everyone and ultimately... we are all just here bc we are marrying our wonderful FHs and need help planning.

I am just throwing this out there to see if ANYONE feels the way that my friends and I often feel. I mean I have been a part of the 08 board since June 06. And I love the advice but the petty girl crap is so diheartening that i want to just give up on LIW.

and really im not trying to make anyone angry. i am just wondering if any of you girls feel this way.

I agree with what you say, but you know there will always be petty girl crap whether its on this site or even in the real world..When i do give an opinion or advice i dont expect every person to agree. Still I love to come on here and read posts and get fresh wedding ideas...

That happened to me too. When I booked my RH I got like 4 responses.

for me personally I think sometimes people make certain comments that they shouldn't be making...its one thing to say oh just wasn't exactly what i was looking for or this place was different and offered more...but sometimes people will say such horrible things about a vendor or RH or make comments about how others spend their money and i'll get annoyed sometimes but just gotta let it go sometimes...There are times i do say something i'll admit that but hey if you're gonna make such comments then you need to expect a few disagreements.

Oh I def feel like this ALOT!

this site def has little cliques...but whatever it doesnt matter ..

I do feel like somtimes that in a post I will write a comment to the orignal poster...and they will comment back to everyone except me...if that makes sense

I get that sometimes too...you aren't alone

Re: NWR: I have a question...a lil long

i dont know if i sound stupid for saying this or if someone else mentioned this but here I go:

I think sometimes since we are always on here and we do see reoccurring topics related to weddings we dont see them get many repsonses. Although I try to comment to every wedding related thing when I am on- especially since I still have everything to book and love to get info about different vendors. But like I was saying lol I feel that the wedding related topics might not get as much comments cause those questions might have been asked already or because obviously we are always talking weddings. But when someone mentions something not wedding related it might get more comments cause it is a little more interesting at the time or what not

Does that even make sense...?? I think it made more sense in my head

I am tired and writing papers I am sorry haha

but i love it on here and love getting feedback. even if there are cliques there is nothing anyone can do especially since alot of us might have known others before coming on here. But i do enjoy everyones comments and advice

Diane,
I totally understand your point....
i do feel like that sometimes too - i have not been posting on here as often as i used to because i feel that people would rather reply to a post about their pets or personal hygiene or some BS topic than answer a question that i really do have....i mean i do post topics that are NWR too but it bugs me when i put up a question that i seriusoly need some help on and i get maybe 1 reply but other silly threads get like 100+ responses (much of which are repeated) i kind of makes me wonder what the point of this site is and that is why i have been avoiding it lately

I 100% know what you mean. And I have noticed the cattiness on here, I vent through FM and then blow it off, if you ever need to do that feel free to FM me. I'm not going to let a few catty comments (or no comments at all, lol) ruin all the helpful wedding planning ideas and advice I get from this site. And no you are not alone!!

i completely agree...and it def turns people away and that is not what this site is for. like i said everyone has the right to their own opinion...but i like to think

if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all...i would never throw someones idea down and make them feel silly for spending their money on something or doing something a certain way- even if i wouldnt necessarily do it that way. but if i really dont have anything nice to say i wont open my mouth and i think it is a good idea haha

Just do what I do, when all else fails, use the search button.

I agree, there was some girl on here talking smack about my hall and it made me so angry. There are nice ways to say things and there are ways of just being plain rude. I'm still convinced someone let her drink and type

i honestly didn't know it bothered people when we chat about NWR things - i feel bad now bc i posted a bunch of stuff ( even just today ) that was NWR. . . i just like sharing things on here and chatting about everything - not just weddings

i always try to respond to WR posts - although i will admit if it is a post that says 'I booked my DJ' and 20 people already said Congrats! I may just skip it

or if it is something i dont have an opinion on - or even something i dont like, i dont want to upset anybody so i will skip that too

half the time i dont even pay attention to WHO is posting it until after i read it so its really more about the content then the poster

it's a lose-lose situation...if you spend too little you get criticismj for that, if you spend too much you get criticism for that...I ALWAYS see people say, it is soooo stupid to spend THAT much, i am too smart to waste my money like that and make comments similar to those. Or you'll see others criticize those who spend less. I don't get it, why is it anybodies business on how much someone spends on a certain thing, to each their own. We don't know eachothers status, or what help they might be getting, or who knows it might be a hook up they got so we cant sit there and tell ANYBODY about what they spend their money on. If someone is comfortable with it then that is all that matters, what someone spends has nothing to do with me, i have no opinion on it bc i have nothing to do with it, its not my money its theirs...If they're happy with their decision and then that is all that matters.

OR!!! ive seen this a few times recently, ive seen girls make comments about RH's or vendors, and they weren't even mine but i was sitting there reading it and thinking UHMMMM so and so has this RH and they'll probably read this, that is so wrong. Choose your words wisely...nobody is saying we all have to love the same things but there are better ways of saying it

I didn't read this whole thing but I certainly don't mind if people post NWR things. How much wedding stuff can we actually talk about before it begins to get repetititve (which it already has)? It's nice to hear about other things going on in people's lives.

um ew ...that annoys me that someone said somthing bad about your hall...milleridge is amazing...

someone will always have somthing negative to say, but common sense why would u come on a wedding board and diss a RH..people obviously have booked that hall on here..

the only negative comments I like are somthing that can help me better my experiance with the place or company

theres so many of us with different interests so its fine to post WR and NWR things, and people can just respond to what they want to respond to thats it...don't feel bad now for posting NWR things

it doesnt bother me at all...I feel like I post more NWR topics..and now I feel bad...for example when izzy was sick..I was so worried and I needed a place to vent...hmm now I may think twice about doing that, i dont want to make people mad.

I agree on that if someone posts a topic and they already have 10 congrats replys..I dont reply either
