do you ever get the feeling when you are typing on the boards that people are playing to their favorites by who comments your questions, albums, etc.? Do you ever feel that brides are jealous of you or what you have and in turn make you feel that you are not welcome here?

i dont know. i was talking with my girls last nite (some of who are on this website) and i often feel that there is this bit of jealousy that some brides feel towards other brides.

i know i am happy with what i have and what i am doing, as they are.

but we felt that some people(and I shall never name names) on here are trying to 'prove' something to everyone and ultimately... we are all just here bc we are marrying our wonderful FHs and need help planning.

I am just throwing this out there to see if ANYONE feels the way that my friends and I often feel. I mean I have been a part of the 08 board since June 06. And I love the advice but the petty girl crap is so diheartening that i want to just give up on LIW.

and really im not trying to make anyone angry. i am just wondering if any of you girls feel this way.

wait im a little confused, is this about girls who get jealous or girls who try to show off lol, or is it both lol...i see both points out there thats why. I guess you do see some catty people on here, and i guess some haven't felt welcomed, i dont know hope some dont feel like this...also yes some will only comment on certain peoples posts and albums.

i have to think about this one. . . but honestly i dont think i have felt like that - sometimes i get sad when people make remarks about my vendors or maybe something that i like but no one has ever made me feel like they had a problem with ME personally

honestly, i am more concerned with how my 'real life friends' interact with me then my 'LIW friends' . . . my friends on here have been pretty supportive though!

yeah thats what i am curious about, are you feeling that you are not welcomed? i have personally not seen someone act mean towards you, unless i missed it so who knows. I hope you don't feel this way.

Ill answer more about this post but im a bit slow right now, had very little sleep and got home from a bridal shower not long ago. But not sure if this is about people who are jealous and put others down or people who show off.

There are quite a few things i have seen too, and yes have felt a certain way at times so i think i know what you are getting to

and matilde, i do care how my real friends feel too (obviously) but when you want advice from other people and you dont get as many answers as you would hope (sometimes no answers)...but people post things that can be irrelevant and they get ridiculous amount of answers back...it seems like its a popularity contest instead of a board for advice.

i totally understand where you are coming from!!

I mean I understand everyone has the right to their opinions. But sometimes I feel some people voice their opinion a little differently then what they meant and sometimes it causes controversy. Or they voice an opinion about certain vendors, favors, photos etc and others dont necessarily want to hear negative comments regarding their vendors etc.

I felt welcomed as soon as I got on here. You 08ers were wonderful when I switched my wedding date from 09 to 08 and I am thankful you are all so supportive--but I do see the cattyness on here sometimes and it does make me want to just leave for the day and take a break!!

But I guess what can you expect when you put 1000+ GIRLS on a site to talk about weddings haha- like Meg said

AHHHH ok yes i do see this alot...i am really sorry you feel this way ...i do see some people post things and everyone will respond and others wont really get a response, when i do see that i try and respond if i can, and i know some others have said they do the same...don't take it personally, sometimes maybe they don't have the answer to what you need, or who knows...But don't feel this way its probably not intentional, you are more than welcome

and if there are people who dont like you then just screw it that is their problem. I know theres some people on here who might not like me but you know what they dont know what i am really like so if they want to judge go right ahead, if they want to judge you based on certain things then that is their own ignorance...theres plenty of others who do like you and want you on here

I do also but don't let it bother you. I just try to answer everyones post because I don't want anyone to not get any comments back. Even if I say I am not sure.

I really think that it has to do with people that have common interests. Sometimes I get 50 replies and sometimes I don't even get 1. I think that people just reply to those posts that they are interested in. I would not take this personally and am sorry that you feel this way.

I see what your are saying that some posts get more activity than others depending on who posts them. There are some topics sometimes that are soo very off wedding topic, like ' come take a look my donkey took a dump, with pics' ahahaah Im sorry but non-wedding topics can have like 1000 posts and when there is a wedding topic no one gives a crap. I posted that I booked my florist and I got like 6 responses and it was viewed like 60 times. I really dont give a crap that I didnt get additional posts I really dont care but I def see what you are saying. Keep on doing, forget the people you are talking about. I try to help and comment on everyone bec we all have a wedding to plan, thats what we are here for.

lol i wasnt saying you didnt care what your friends thought - i just meant like if some random person totally knocks JT i would be like ok i dont care but if YOU came on here and said you went to a wedding there and hated it then i would be upset bc i value your opinion more!

I totally understand how it can feel like a popularity contest but sometimes ( i know this is silly since its a wedding board) i'd rather chat about NWR things then wedding things bc i am so sick of planning ( and/or nervous that it is coming so quickly!)

but you are right - it is a wedding board and it can be discouraging not to get responses when you are searching for advice/opinions. I guess i just see it more as people don't HAVE the advice or opinions to give me instead of taking it personally
