I just switched from Suffolk to Excelsior college-all online-so much more convenient when you work six days a week. Med-surg is big $-but i HATE med -surg. I love OR.

OR is impossible to get into I know people in my class who still haven't found an opening....Med/Surg is the easiest

I found it boring because if your lady isn't actually in labor than there is a lot of down time. I'm sure there are days when you are crazy, but I also wanted to be able to form a relationship with my patients instead of getting a new one everytime I walk into work

Re: NWR: ANy nurses out there?
I am currently trying to get into nursing school just finished anatomy and physiology did both parts. All I can say is no joke......OMG lots of work but I know the money is good. I applied to Suffolk for night program. I hope I get in. This is just a change of career for me I already have a bachelors and masters. However nursing school is so competive.

Re: NWR: ANy nurses out there?
As a doctor, i can honeslty say there are times when i wish i went to nursing school instead. I would have saved thousands and thousands of dollars on school loans, i could have started a family earlier and i would have more time for myself and future family. While i was in med school my good friend was starting out as a nurse. She made great money and worked awesome hours.
Definitely go for it!!!!

I am a Registered Nurse, and Certified Hemo Dialysis Tech, and I must say I work as an Administrative Assistant b/c emotionally I couldn't take it. The pay is excellent, as well as benefits, but after 3yrs I couldn't do it anymore I would get too attached to my patients

I just got accepted to Adelphi for Nursing, I already have a BS in Health Education. Try Adelphi or Molloy, also, maybe I will see you there!

Re: NWR: ANy nurses out there?
My friend is a RN in L&D she graduated form LIU good program but a lot of $$$$$..Hunter is a CUNY and they have an excellent nursing program.
As a nurse the starting pay is excellent and her schedule is awesome 3 days 12 hour shifts can't beat that.
