If you are thinking of changing your CL solution, I recommend Allergan Complete. I used to work for an ophthalmologist and tried pretty much everything on the market - Allergan Complete really keeps your lenses moist.

i use this too, i LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does that work for soft lenses also? My eyes are so dry, I have to put drops every 1 to 2 hours when I wear my contacts.

Yup, I wear soft lenses. You may still need to put drops in, but probably not as frequently b/c the solution has some sort of moisture lock system that keeps your eyes moist.

Re: NWR: Contact Lens Wearers

the report i read said that some of the users were opti-free users but most were renu moisture loc users. i've used both solutions and i prefer moisture loc. i change the solution every day and replace the case regularly. i'm not changing anything. this is a rare thing and unless my eyes start acting up, i'm sticking with renu. and if my eyes do act up, i'm running to the eye doctor. i don't believe in widespread panic and i don't trust the news. will i take precautions? of course. but i'm not going to go crazy over this until i hear something more alarming than what i've read so far. at this point, it's really all speculation. jmo.

Re: NWR: Contact Lens Wearers

Yes, it is true some patients were using other solutions other than renu and got fungal keratitis. But most were renu moisture loc users. This is what is confusing and leading me and colleagues to believe that is related to contact lens care and abuse. I have been informing my patients about the importance of proper contact lens use. Personally, I like the Optifree replenish solution, it keeps the eyes moist and 'no rub' does not appear on the box which can be misleading.

Re: NWR: Contact Lens Wearers

I just learned today that a recall is being issued only for Renu with Moisture Loc. They still don't really know anything, but this is making me reconsider my use of the product.

From a Bloomberg article:

Only Product Withdrawn

In yesterday's statement, Bausch & Lomb said it's withdrawal of ReNu with MoistureLoc didn't apply to other Bausch & Lomb products or to ReNu with MoistureLoc made outside the U.S. The product isn't sold in Canada, the company said.

In today's ad, the company said the withdrawal only involved product made in the U.S. because the places where the infections are happening, including ``three countries in Asia and here in the U.S.'' are all ``served from the U.S. plant.''

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration didn't ask Bausch & Lomb to remove the lens cleaner from the market, Graham said yesterday. ``We have been in discussion with the FDA and notified them,'' she said.

The company offered a refund or coupon for another Bausch & Lomb product to those who return of ReNu with MoistureLoc. Consumers were directed to the Web site http://www.bausch.com or the U.S. phone number (1) (888) 666-2258.

Re: NWR: Contact Lens Wearers

Okay, so I'm a little confused. Is there something, a possible ingredient, in *any* No Rub solution that is causing this? I just went out and bought the Opti-Free Express No Rub, but I rub anyway, and there is still a possibility of this fungus? I change my lens every two weeks, take them out every night and even though I use a No Rub solution, I rub every time I put them in or take them out (that sounds bad I know! lol)
