NWR: Does anyone else go tanning?

I've been going recently because I was seriously so pale that I was practically see through ! Does anyone have a good tanning lotion w/bronzer in it that you can recommend? I use 'Denim and Diamonds' right now but I want something that smells alot better and works really good, but not with any of that tingle stuff in it I hate that. Thanks!

I do!!! Even though FH hates it!!
I just hate looking so pale. I use bronze bondage.

I used to go more than I should have when I was up at school. I am so self conscious now because i am so white, like people make comments, I know I am! However, last year I had a white spot under my eye and my dermatologist told me it is a pre-cancerous cell and he had to remove it and it had to be biopsied and it was very scary and unpleasant. I still plan on going so I don't look like a sheet of paper for my wedding but I will only go for occasions, not just because. Please don't forget how dangerous it is!

I do too. I also have excema (it's a skin condition) and I heard that sally jesse raphael gave a tanning bed to a little girl who had bad excema to help her clear it up. While I have no idea if this is true or not I used it to justify my tanning visits, lol.

speaking from someone who quite literally can't tan because she only burns. Please please please remember the dangers of tanning! ESPECIALLY in tanning salons where the RV is soooooooo much more concentrated!

Believe me I've lived with looking like a sheet of paper my entire life and while it used to bother me a lot when I was younger it doesn't anymore. I've accepted it and now I'm so conscious in the summer because skin cancer is a lot more common than most people know and it's really not pretty!

So PLEASE keep that in mind when you girls go tanning!

edited to say - if you don't know about the dangers of skin cancer just go to google images and type in 'skin cancer' and you'll see why I'm vehmently against it. . .

It's true....one of my co-workers who is 60 yrs. old has eczema and his dermatologist suggested he go tanning. The uv rays help clear it.

just want to add...

that many people go tanning to get a 'base tan' before they go away so they 'don't burn'

but there is no proof that pretanning will prevent you from getting burnt

Well, the truth is, you´re likely doing more damage in the tanning bed since you probably apply sunscreen at the beach. And UV exposure in a tanning bed can make the skin even more vulnerable to outdoor sunburns following use of a tanning bed. So, there really is no such thing as helping protect your skin by getting a base tan.

it smells awesome and worked great. im like see through and it tanned me up nice..

I use THRUST and it has a pic of a pot leaf on it - it works great but it smells like poop and the name makes me giggle.

i cant go until i get off stupid anitbiotics for my acne - so i will be pale all summer - which is okay bc i am still darker then most people even when i am pale LOL

tingling stuff is the devil!! i once had to race home to get it off me - i hate it! stupid girl recommended it! LOL

see i'd like to try the self tanning stuff but i know i wouldnt be able to apply it all myself. i would miss spots and be blottchy

I know people who have gone to the tanning salons and done that spray tan and it looked really good

im afraid that it will streak if i work out n sweat so i have never tried it.

i dont tan that often only in the summer to keep a basebc i too burn in the sun..it helps me.

I love being tan...and I have always started tanning around this time of year.......but my older sister, 29 years old, used to go tanning, and lay on the beach, but she developed Melanoma, Skin Cancer, last year.....and that is the 'worse kind' of skin cancer to get. She was really scared, and she is always getting big pieces of skin taken off.....

As much as I love tanning, I decided not to do the tanning beds anymore, and wear sunscreen outside. I am not here to lecture, believe me, I am a sun worshipper myself, I just think sometimes we don't realize what it does to our skin.

Okay, now this isn't tanning lotion, but it works great!

I always shower before I go tanning and I exfoliate (especially knees and elbows) and usually shave my legs. Then, when I am finished showering, I use just regular Lubriderm lotion and LATHER myself in it

When I tan, I don't smell funny afterwards and I get a deep, mosturized tan!!
