NWR: Haunted Houses for Halloween

Original post by AS

I want to take my friends, FH and little nephew to a haunted house next month. I heard there are many on LI and I have been seeing an ad in the subways for the scariest haunted house in NY. Has anyone been to a haunted house? I heard the Westbury Gardens also host one?????

i was looking this up before actually cause we always do something on halloween... We usually go upstate though...we've been to a few of the haunted houses on long island but none of them were that scary. i think there is one in wading river that we have been too called darkside.. that was decent...

here are a few more things i found when i was looking for halloween to dos around ny!! most of them are in the city..but i've heard good things..
NY Halloween 1

This sounds creepy

could be fun

Nightmare ghost stories

Blood Manor

Bayville Screampark

one more

sorry i added so many.. but i was doing a lot of research before...lmao

Ohhh good stuff, thanks!!!

Does anyone know about this one? Supposedly the most horrifying HH in NY???

BOO!!

OMG i'm allll over this !

yeah -- i'm goin to this one--it looks gooooood

I went to this one last year and it was great. It is done by professionals and you can tell. What's great is that every year they go out and talk to tons of people and gather tons of information about what scares you, so everything is based on that so it hit home harder.

yea i haven't had the nuts to try this one yet..lol. Something about the idea of nightmares and people's fears. I know someone told me they had like a claustrophobia room and that would make me crazy..lol.

Yes--it totally plays off of your fears, which is what makes it scary.

We go to the haunted houses every year for Halloween.

You can take them to the one that's done out of the Fun Zone in Farmingdale on Rte. 110--that not only has the haunted house, but they have performers and they can also go on rides.

There's also the Bayville one, which is really popular.

Yes Ive heard the one in Bayville is great. I believe it is actually at a firehouse that they do up.

The Bayville FD haunted house is great/scary.

I actually just saw a car yesterday with the top down with fake bodies all over it promoting their haunted house.

That is actually not for the FD haunted house. It's for the Bayville Scream Park.

The FD might not even do a haunted house this year from what i was told b/c the Scream Park is too hard to compete with.

it really is great. it cracks you up how scared everyone gets

here is the website: Dark Side House

I second this one - I go every year - but parking is a bittch and the line is long.

Worth it though. It's really fun!

Well this isn't a haunted house but in Croton on the Hudson they have a display of all jack o lanterns cut out into like anything you can imagine. It's so amazing!

so i went there last year on a saturday and to be honest i get scared of EVERYTHING and this really didnt scare me...i dunno maybe i was expecting too much when i went bc the website makes it look amazing...but u just walk through a bunch of different room and each room has a different nightmare like clowns, dolls, umm drowning...things like that...and it was like a little errie but it didnt actually scare me u know? i went to one at a fire department once that scared me more (prob the bayville one people were saying- i cant remember if thats def it tho)
