NWR: Have any of you thought/ seriuosly contemplated moving out of NY?
Last week, FH & I visited my sis and BIL in Charlotte, North Carolina...This was our third time visinig, and this time, it really sunk in how nice it is there..
AND the cost of living is SO much more affordable than here,
LOTS of thinking going on here lately.....

Yes, when we visited my cousin who lives in Northern VA with his wife and kid (and baby on the way). It is a beaaaaaauitful home and soooooooo much more affordable than here. FH is sick of NY. He was born and raised in Queens and just wants out. I agree with him; however, we both dont want to leave our families.
It s ucks!!!!!!! His cousin bought a house in Northern Jersey for $179K, so we are considering NJ.

I would love to move somewhere else.
For awhile we were seriously considering Canada.
I just love a lot of things about NYC and would miss it quite a bit. But I like big changes and am a risk-taker...

All the time. In the past year my job asked me to relocate twice and it killed us that we couldn't take the offers (if we were already married we would have jumped on it). It's so much easier to live in some other states rather than NY. We're hoping in a few years something will come up with my job again and I'll get another offer. I feel your pain, I would move out of NY in a heartbeat.

It's not too far from the city. It takes us like 30 mins to get back to our apt in Queens from there (with no traffic of course!!!)
Lincoln Park.
After hearing that, I am really ok with the move to NJ. Do you live close to there?

we have a lot of friends in the DC area (like northen virigina and stuff)....i love it down there and you can definitely get more for your money. we have thought about it but i really don't wanna be that far from my family. I love being able to see my neice and nephew often.

Exactly. My FH is NYPD, so we're here for the long run.

This is our issue. We both want out (FH more than me), but leaving family wil be hard. I know FH won't really be able to be so far from his nephews.

there are a few lincoln parks in jersey lol..but i'm going to assume its the one in middlesex (by airport) since its the one that's most north... that's a great deal!!!! we live in hudson county, right outside the lincoln tunnel.

I moved to NC right after the wedding. I thought I'd never leave Long Island -- just always figured I raise a family same as I was raised.
But then I met a man from the South... who swept me off my feet and dragged me away to a really wonderful life.
Life is a million times better here than it ever was there. I can always visit.
