NWR: Have any of you thought/ seriuosly contemplated moving out of NY?

Last week, FH & I visited my sis and BIL in Charlotte, North Carolina...This was our third time visinig, and this time, it really sunk in how nice it is there..

AND the cost of living is SO much more affordable than here,

LOTS of thinking going on here lately.....

Yup, we plan to move to NC a few years after we get married. Everytime I go down there, I never want to leave...

We've talked about moving to Indian Trail NC. its about 30-45min outside Charlotte.. in Matthews. 90% of the people who live in Indian Train are from NY. one of my BFFs live there, thats how we found out about it, we went to their wedding down there then again July of 08 (when FH proposed) the only thing keeping us here is his nephews and nieces.

My Brother lives in Indian Trail!

I have to say when my brother and SIL first moved there they loved it! But now that they have a daughter and are looking at schools they are quickly realizing that the schools are not the same as over here....they moved down there because her sister was down there but now that her sister moved to California they are pretty much all alone over there. I think it all depends on the person but i do know alot of people that moved down south and now want to move back to ny........

FH and I hope to one day move to Texas. It is so gorgeous there and you get so much for your money. my aunt lives in San Antonio and I have been there several times. I took FH there last year and we also spent time in Austin and he loves it. You can't imagine the houses you can get there. Right now its not the time to move due to the economy and stuff but I am working towards my master's degree in education so as soon as i am done, i will send my resume there. FH is in IT so neither one of us will have a problem getting a job. The medical industry is really big there too. We will see what happens but Ny is just to expensive to stay.

we seriously considered moving to maryland (outside baltimore where my sister is) back when FH was looking at grad schools and i was looking at law schools (like 5-6 years ago). He wound up at stonybrook and me at st. john's bc neither of us could pull the trigger. Can't move now bc he's NCPD and has oh, 17.5 years left. Oh, and I am not taking another bar exam anytime soon - 2 was enough for me!
