NWR: hypoallergenic dogs

Does anyone have a hypoallergenic dog, I'm looking into getting one soon (preferably maltese) but I'm looking for some info. My biggest questions are, has anyone ever been allergic to your dog? And where did you get your dog? TIA!

Re: NWR: hypoallergenic dogs

My FMIL has a yorky. Any terriors or poodles are pretty hypoallergenic dogs.
I have a shiba inu and carolina dog, I do not recommend them if you have allergies.

Re: NWR: hypoallergenic dogs

My FH has terrible allergies (I call him my love nerd) and he claims to be allergic to even hypoallergenic dogs but being in the psychology field, I think it's all in his head. That's why I'm trying to figure out if anyone with a hypoallergenic dog has had someone come in contact with their dog have an allergic reaction. The pet stores tell you it's not possible but allergy doctors say otherwise, so confusing

Re: NWR: hypoallergenic dogs

Hi -

you can get any type of poodle and be safe! They do NOT have dander on their skin and they have human like hair that grows like humans...

Good luck!
