NWR- i had a kinda scary morning and wanted to know if anyone has an info about this (sorry its long) ****UPDATED***
Original post by ILOVEBRIAN2008
so today fh and i went to visit his mom in the hospital (she had surgery but is fine) and all of a sudden i started to get really hot and dizzy...then i start to black out and next thing i know everyone is around me 'saying omg are u ok?!?!?!' this isnt the first time ive passed out, and i kinda knew it was coming when i started to get hot and dizzy but we were in a hospital room with his mom, dad and grandparents and his grandpa was sitting in the seat and i wasnt about to be like 'omg i need to sit' i didnt want them to know what was going on so i just leaned against the window ledge and hoped the feeling went away..well it didnt and i passed out (not to mention my back is scraped up from when i fell- so that hurts)
i get this feeling probably 2-3 times a year but usually like 2 of the times im somewhere where i can sit down and if i can sit usually i can get the feeling to pass...i went to the doctor once like 2 years ago and they gave me a few tests and blood tests and all he found is that my cholestrol is a little high..and sometimes my blood presure is a little low
whats scary about this time is that FH and his family think it was a seizure bc i was shaking, my eyes were open, and i made a few sounds before i 'woke up'
the nurse told me i should get checked out at the ER but if i was feeling ok now i can just call my doctor (and sadly to say i left bc i have school work that i have to do tonight, and so does fh and i didnt want to spend all day there) so im gonna call the doctor tomorrow
does anyone experience anything like this? know anything about it? fhs family said that i should maybe ask my doctor for a referal to the neurologist
im feeling ok now just a little weak and my head hurts a little but im attempting to read a thousand pages for my grad paper thats due tomorrow..i just wanted to see if any of u girls know anything about this TIA
************* UPDATE**************************
ok so i went to my doctor today he said its prob that vago something or other but i had extremely low blood pressure today butttttt then the nurse hooked me to an echocardiogram thing and after she did it quick and printed that paper out was like 'thats weird' and she checked me to make sure everything was on correctly...left the room to talk to the doctor, came back and was like 'you need to go to a cardiologist' i was like what did that test show??? and shes like its ok, im like umm but what did it say? and shes like u have a VERY low heart beat...awesome...oh and i read the paper (bc they game it to me to hive the heart guy thats next door) and it says that i shower multiple atrial premature complexes, short r-r complexes..and i have no clue what any of this means lol but obviously its not that great...i have an appointment with the cardiologist in a week and a hlaf so hopefully ill know more then...weirdly enough im not actually worried, im just hoping its nothing toooo bad..anyways thanks again girls for all the info u guys gave me yesterday!!

I don't know if its the same thing, but since I was about 8 years old I would pass out if I was standing in one place not moving for a while. It happens to me once or twice a year. After years of tests one cardioloigst I went to told me that I had vaso vaygal sydrome (dont know if its spelled right I just wrote it the way it sounds). Basically if I stand too long my heart doesnt properly pump the blood up from my feet back to my head so I pass out. (kind of tied to the low blood pressure but not the same thing). Since it didn't happen often enough he didnt put my on medication but just told me to sit if i felt it coming on b/c i always feel it before it happens. Also he told me to eat more salt to keep my blood pressure a little higher. As I've gotten older it happens maybe once a year or less but I feel like its going to happen more than that and then I walk around, or sit and move my feet and eat something salty and usually it goes away. It might be something totally different but might be worth seeing a cardiologist for. Hope this helps!
i have the same thing. i just sent you an fm but this also explained it a little better than i did.
thanks keri i FMed u back

I have the same thing happen to me a couple times a year. The last time it happened, it was bad. I passed out and when i woke up i had slurred speech! My blood pleasure was low i believe it was 76/40, and it was terrible. I had an MRI done, went to the neurologist and also the cardiologist because i was having feeling of verdigo. All the test including bloodwork turned out normal and i think i was just sick because my friend a couple weeks later had the same thing.
You can get the blackout feeling from sooo many things like not eating or drinking, lacitives, stress, low blood pressure. I would def go to the doctor to be sure that its nothing to worry about.
If you need anything FM me

Jenise I hope that you are feeling better! I have not had experience with that, but I agree witht the rest of the ladies- demanding more testing from your doctor

I've passed out a couple times in my life, one time it was bc my blood sugar was low. Other times it was right after a blood test and I was just lightheaded. I have noticed though that at times when I'm feeling stressed I feel like I'm going to pass out. Sometimes if I'm in a crowded area I think my nerves get to me.
It sounds like your under some stress so maybe that could be it. Feel better!

I have similar experiences to this and it is often related to blood pooling in your feet from standing in one spot with a combination of low blood pressure. Shaking/ rolling your eyes back/moaning/ and losing bladder control can all occur when you pass out, it doesn't mean you are having a seizure. It sounds more like you passed out as opposed to experiencing a grand mal seizure.

a girl i work with used to pass out randomly...i forgot what she said she had...but she had to get a tilt test done or something...she got strapped to a table and they kept titlting it until she passed out. whatever condition it is...she just needs to have gtorade and like saltines (cuz of the salt) with her so if she starts feeling dizzy she takes that and it goes away.
This is due to lack of electrolytes. It ties in w/the low potassium and low blood pressure. I have abnormally low blood pressure and this has happened to me before. And two times in my life I'm pretty sure I had a small seizure. Exactly how you said I had the same scrapes on my back b/c I fell outside against a brick wall. I was getting my nails done and felt dizzy/tingly I went outside and don't remember anything until I came too and an ambulance came and they told me I have low blood pressure. I think diet has a lot to do w/it. I noticed I have to be more careful w/what I eat. The other time I had the 'seizure' my mom actually witnessed it I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom passed her bedroom and next think I know I'm on the bathroom tile floor my nose is bleeding...worst feeling ever. I've passed out other times as well and gone to doctors,,,they only told me low blood pressure and low potassium is to cause.

lol i know im an iddiot i should have went to the er but i had so much work that i needed to do and didnt want to be there all day....i dont think it happened bc i was ina hospital..bc they dont bother me at all, and bc its happened a bunch of other times at random places...but i woke up today and was getting ready for work, when i realized that im still feeling a little weak (fine just not 100%) and decided to just take off...i figured if i go to work then im gonna have to rush home to get to the doctors tonight, then go to my church class, and do school work, and that all would stress me out more probably soooo im gonna get an earlier doctors appointment and have all day to get my work done

Hope you feel better! I get dizzy almost every day. FH bought me a daily vitamin for women and told me to drink lots of water and it has been helping!

I used to get like this alot. I went to my doctor and he couldn't find anything so they sent me to a heart specialist. it ended up i just had low blood pressure and they told me to watch it and I have to add salt to my diet. it has helped but I noticed sometime si feel like that still and i'll just have some juice or soemthing and it goes away. But I would definelty go to the doctor right away!! and if he can't find anythign go to another one.

i see alot of us have low blood pressure, definitely bring this up to your gyno when you get pregnant, im sure they'll end up knowing but when youre pregnant and have low blood pressure it makes for more of a difficult pregnancy, not that anything will happen to the baby but more about what its doing to your body, some even are ordered to stay in bed the last month or more before.

Hey I hope your feeling better! Actually May of this year I experienced the same thing. I went to the doctor and cardio doctor. I was actually diagnosed with low blood pressure. Also , surprising anxiety. Anxiety can bring on the fainting and the heat flashes. I also have a heart mumur and mitro valve prelapse < can't spell it.
So def go to the doctor. It may not be bad.
Again, I hope you feel better!
