Ok so I just need to vent about how pathetic people are. 3 years ago I was in a car accident (which was not my fault it was a 4 car accident and I was the 3rd car). The people in the car infront of me got in there car and drove away after ems looked at the little girl in the car. No claim was ever filed through my insurance company or the 4th cars company for anything not even repairs to their car. Wednesday I get home and have package on my porch. All 3 people in the vehicle are suing me for 15 MILLION each!!!!!
My insurance company told me not to worry too much, they filed because they only had 3 years, the suite was filed on 6/29 the accident was 7/1/03.
Sorry for the rant but it just pisses me off since I was the one that left in an ambulance!

My FI got into an accident on Memorial Day weekend in 03 and then 1 year later got served with papers that the guy (who was drunk and on a motorcycle) was suing hime for 10 million. Needless to say he refused to see FI's insurance companies doctors and after 3 postponments in got thrown out of court. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Especiialy if there was no claims through the insurance company at the time. The insurance company has lawyer to represent you and them specifically for this purpose. Just keep on top of them so that you stay informed of whats going on with the whole situation. Good Luck!

You insurance company will handle it. You may have to go to a deposition but they will make sure that you are prepared for it.

I'm sorry you're going through this... I got a letter in the mail today from my old insurance company saying be prepared to receive papers shortly for an accident I was involved in 3 years ago... I hope it works out for you!

Ugh- that is so ridiculous! Don't worry about it- I'm sure it will get thrown out- it's obvious they found some ambulance chaser lawyer who's trying to get them moeny even though they have no case. If anyone had been really injured you would have heard from them a long time ago. Let your insurance company handle these people and don't stress!

People are such a$$*&%es!!! Why bring it up three years later? They won't get anything. They weren't hurt and then they left. The insurance company will laugh at them.

the SAME exact thing happened to me a long time ago!
I was involved in a 4 or 5 car pileup due to black ice on the road. I was hit from behind and went into the car infront of me, and so on. I wasn't even driving when I was hit. I was at a stop.
1 week before the statue of limitations ran out I got sued by the &^%$ infront of me for $1M he was the ONLY one able to drive away from the scene. everyone else’s cars were totaled.
the case was dismissed, it didn't even make it past the depositions. I hope the same happens to you
