My dog has been making the weirdest noises in the last few days. Something that sounds like a mix between trying to clear a stuffy nose and choking. Her breed (she's a half yorkie and half poodle) sometimes are succeptible (sp?) to collapsed tracheas, but I PRAY it is not that.
Anyway, please send her your positive thoughts for today. I am taking her to the vet at 12.

Did he? Did the doctors ever tell you what it was?
She does it every now and then, but FH is really worried and wants me to take her.

Same thing with my dog....he only did it occasionally.......the vet said yorkies just do it sometimes. He did it alot when he drank water because he drank too fast. The vet really didn't give me an exact reason. My dog still does it sometimes but he's fine.

Yeah I noticed she did it either when she's drinking water OR when she's running too fast but these past few days it's been out of nowhere!!
I think it might be that her nose is too runny LOL....her nose drips constantly...LOLOL

Dont worry!!! My poodle does this too, the doc said when they are nervous (and especially when they are old ladies), their throats can close when they get excited, but it doesnt hurt them and just to try to calm you pooch down.

The trachea collapses due to weak cartilage of the tracheal rings. It can be inherited and very common in small toy breeds.

My chuihuahua does the same thing. It's nothing. I rub his belly and pat his back at the same time and he stops.

OK I love those lil angel breeds!! Sooo cute!! Penny, now for your positive thought- you are taking her to the vet and doing what a good owner should do! Whatever it is, a bad cold, or god forbid something else, you are doing what a good owner should do!! Its far better to catch something early than to let it sit! Good for you!!
Best of luck and let us knwo how the lil sweetiepie is when you return from the vet!
